This is such a cute Christmas Village piece. It also looks great as a stand-alone decoration, which is how I use it. The scene depicted is very charming with just enough Christmas implied in the overall look without being over the top.When you turn it on you get a fun little active train station, complete with lights inside the building, a train that travels back and forth, and flashing colored lights lining the overhang. It's very fun and brings a lot of Christmas cheer. You can even turn on music if you want, but I preferred to leave it off.The reasons I can't give it a full 5 stars is because it has a more plastic look than I expected from the listing. It says it's made of resin but it feels and looks more like plastic, at least a lot of it. It's still nice looking though. Also there were times I wished the train was a bit more quiet. I'm not sure if that's just me, I can be pretty sensitive to environmental noise, or if that's a normal amount of noise for something like this.I'm glad I could power it with batteries so I didn't need to worry about placing it near an outlet or hiding the cord. It didn't go through the batteries too quickly, but I did have to change them a couple times through the month, but I also had it on for several hours each night.It's a great Christmas decoration that can be used on its own or with a whole village. It's on the larger side compared to most Christmas Village houses I've seen, so if you want to incorporate it into an existing village made sure you compare sizes first.

Product had a thin plastic over-wrap and simply placed into a shipper box with no other insulation/protection (unbelievable). Several pieces were broken. Product has nice details so I will repair it. Also, product is plastic, not ceramic like other, quality houses.

Love the sound this makes.The size is great.The functionality is solid, mine's been going for weeks.Overall, no complaints.
