Everything to Play For: The QI Book of Sports

The Book That Almost Turned Me Into a Sports Fanatic
So, there I was, picking out the perfect Christmas gift for my brother - a book that, on the surface, seemed destined for his sports-loving hands. Little did I know, this book was about to tackle my indifference towards sports with the finesse of a professional athlete. This isn't just any book; it's a compendium of little stories that dance around facts like a skilled quarterback dodging tackles. I'm the kind of person who finds watching paint dry more exciting than a sports game, but this book? It had me hooked! Each story was like a mini adventure, far more engaging than the usual stat-packed snooze fest I expected. The dilemma hit me harder than a linebacker - I wanted to keep it for myself. Yes, me, the person who thought a touchdown was a new skincare technique. The sheer entertainment value of this book had me contemplating how to explain to my brother that Santa got a bit "confused" this year.Ultimately, the spirit of Christmas won out, and I reluctantly gifted the book as intended. But let me tell you, it was a close call. If you're looking for a way to make sports enjoyable for someone who can't tell a baseball from a badminton shuttlecock, this is it. Who knows? It might even make a fan out of them. Five stars for making me seriously reconsider my stance on sports books (and almost turning me into a kleptomaniac in the process)!

Not my cup of tes
The title of the book suggested that it would be presented in the style of QI. This was bought for a sports mad 14 year old . It is most inappropriate as well as being very boring. Sorry ,but there it is .
