It all depends on the mounting of the switch, the switch makes contact at wires if horizontal all you would need is about 10 degrees if mount vertical you would need a full turn.... It all depends on the mounting.

As for the angle the switch is a simple mercury switch. A little over half way the mercury shifts and complete circuit.
