Works well and tasty!
Surprisingly easy to assemble and it actually resembles the image on the box. Very fun for 7 year old.

Fun!
This was so cute and so much fun to make fully admit I'm 28 and bought this purely for myself and have zero regrets. The taste and texture is alittle odd but overall fun and tasty

Neat
Neat for kids to do. Easy directions for kids to do alone. Everything is included in box, flavor is debatable. But kids definitely love making these!

Fun as a mom&me fast project, not very tasty.
Bought for my 11 year old, we loved the time making it. The actual end game though...looks about 30% like image and tasted not so great in my opinion but babygirl ate it. But kids will eat sketch stuff, lol.Worth every penny in experiences.

On Time
Honestly, with my short time on Amazon I’ve gotten packages with changed shipping times mostly. But this one was right on time, and for a long time I’ve been getting these Popincookin boxes, and none failed to disappoint. This is such a fun and delicious candy that the priciness is forgotten when making the candy. I’ve been buying these for a long time, and I’ve made so many memories with them. When I visited my sister I haven’t seen for six years, we had the gummy one. I also bought the first one with my dad when I was younger, who passed away years ago. So If you want honest, good advice on to get it or not? Powder candies that turn into gelatinous sweets are your thing, with a little Japanese taste? I’d absolutely recommend this, and to check out some other boxes. Not every box is your cup of tea :)

Impossible to replicate from an aesthetic standpoint
[ + = pro / - = con ]+ While I do enjoy the flavors and complexity of tanoshii bento (it gives you more to do),- the onigiri and panda onigiri are near impossible to replicate visually.+ They actually dyed the sugar to decorate naturally by using squid ink (don't worry you don't taste it),- but it means that it will stain the white areas of your rice (and everywhere else if damp), and since the rice contains liquid, the sugar melts. This is also why its impossible to adhere the ears.- I do believe it's possible to replicate this with some serious effort and tools not included in the kit (tweezers for applying ears cleanly) but is especially not replicatable by a child in the age group this is intended for.But if the child is not deterred by not being able to make it look like what's on the box, (some children are prone to perfectionism and may feel like they failed, others being on the spectrum or neurodivergent may find the staining and messy dyes to be too much), then this is still a great tasting kit.I used to buy these for kids in daycare or the few times I volunteered at the pediatric cancer ward before the pandemic. So it was good for older kids (8 and up), but stick to the other kits for younger ages.

Bento is my absolute favorite kit!
Bento is my favorite of the Popin'Cookin' kits. The variety of candies you make is great. This kit does take a bit more time than some of the others but, the flavors and variety make it worth it. I did add a smidge too much water so my pasta looks a little off. Still was very tasty! I stock up on my kits when they are in the $4.50-$5.50 range. Absolutely worth it!
