Hoping to look 10 years younger soon!
I've never used one of these before, even in a salon because I've always been too scared and they look like some kind of medieval torture instrument! But I am getting on a bit and needing a helping hand with the wrinkles that are starting to appear and just the general signs of aging. When I got this, the instruction book is tiny! It did say how to put everything together etc but no information on how to prep your skin or what to do afterwards so I did watch a few YouTube videos before I attempted it.This pen is wireless so I charged it up beforehand then put one of the needles in. The ones with this set were the 36 pins and then you can adjust the dial to between 0.5 and 2.5 length (how deep it goes). I chose the wimpy 0.5 option to start with.I must admit to being quite scared to actually use this, and the first time I put it on, I did jump through the roof only to calm down and realise it didn't actually hurt - it was a weird scratchy type sensation but I was surprised how fast I got used to it.My face did go very red where I had tried it (forehead and nose) and it stayed red until the next day so don't use it just before you go out, you'll look permanently embarrassed :)I soothed my skin afterwards with some micellar water but didn't use moisturiser until the next day (I couldn't find any guidelines on this, when you should or shouldn't).I must admit, my skin on my nose looks a LOT better, pore-wise even after one go at this, my forehead I'm not so sure but it's harder to see - it definitely feels smoother but I can't say if the lines have reduced yet.I'm really pleased I got over my fear of this and will definitely be much more confident to have another go. At £40 a go at the salon, this will easily pay for itself in no time!

Easy-to-use, cost-effective way to improve my skin at home
As someone who is becoming more conscious of skincare as I age, I was excited to try microneedling for its touted benefits of skin rejuvenation. I found that a micro-needling facial was effective in reducing fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, and improving the overall complexion of my skin. The process also stimulates collagen production which results in anti-aging effects such as skin tightening, plumping, and an overall improvement in appearance. The packaging of the derma pen was attractive and everything was neatly packed in a storage box, including the pen itself, a protective sleeve, a USB-C charging cable and adapter, and an instruction manual. While the storage box was made of plastic and easily lifted off, I would have preferred a hinged or latch design for added security when traveling. Additionally, the set included a separate box of 10 pin cartridges. The derma pen itself felt like a high-quality device, with a good weight and smooth texture. It had one function button for on/off and to switch between five different speeds. The needle was easy to install and remove, and the end of the derma pen could be rotated to adjust the needle length. However, I did find it strange that the needle setting was indicated by a sticker rather than an engraved marking. Before using the derma pen, I watched a few online videos to familiarise myself with the process. I disinfected my face with an alcohol wipe and the needle with the disinfectant provided. I used a lower needle setting around my eyes, nose, and mouth, and a higher needle setting around my scars, forehead, cheeks, and chin. It's important not to add pressure when using the derma pen as it could scratch the skin. I felt a warm, scratching sensation during the process, but it was not painful, with the exception of my forehead which felt slightly uncomfortable. After the treatment, my skin was red, but I applied moisturiser and a high SPF sunscreen for several days afterwards. I noticed that my skin tone and texture had improved, and I plan to continue using the derma pen every four to six weeks.Overall, I found the derma pen to be an easy-to-use, cost-effective way to improve my skin at home. While there were some minor drawbacks with the storage box and the needle setting, I believe that the benefits of microneedling and skin rejuvenation make it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to improve the appearance of their skin.

Scary to use but good results
I must admit it took me ages to do this review because I was scared to use it. To make sure I knew what I was doing I watched a few YouTube videos. She follow the instructions properly make sure you cleanse your face and the area you're working in is completely clean and sterile we'll reduce the risk of getting an infection.I did this to myself. I recommend that you get someone you trust to do it! When you do this on yourself it's actually quite scary but it didn't hurt. It was more the thought of it really. It did feel a little strange and uncomfortable. Afterwards the skin is a little bit red, so don't use this before a big event. The principal behind this is that the tiny needles pierced the skin and encourage collagen to regrow fresh new skin. Apparently it works on scarring to make it less visible. I do have skyring on my face but was a bit scared to use it on there but my skin did look good after about five days. This is one of those things that you need to keep up regularly. Doing this yourself could save you hundreds of pounds if you normally get this done at the beauty salon. It actually felt the same as a professional treatment I've had, so I was pretty pleased about that. This is very easy to use although the instructions leave something to be desired! Go on YouTube and watch a few videos so you can get the technique right.I would actually recommend this but suggest you get a friend to do the facial for you so you can just lay back and relax.
