great strong coffee
Love this coffee. I like strong coffee and this one is awsome. With milk and a little honey. I like that it comes with the little coffee pot. I purchased 2 one for me and one for my son

classic turkish coffee
bold, highly caffeinated, and concentrated coffee. easy to follow directions on the package. pot is a bit small, but is more than enough for a single cup. it’s easy to burn if you’re not paying close attention. this is a good kit!

A really inexpensive and good value to try Turkish Coffee!
This review is for the Turkish Coffee set offered by Mehmet Effendi:I have always wanted to try the original method of making coffee - Turkish Coffee! The coffee comes the perfect powder fine grind, nice and strong, and with a beautiful stainless steel pot which can hold up to three little jots of Turkish coffee. (I would recommend no more than two at a time, though!) The pot is thin and well made, easily washed, and transmits heat evenly. The recipe is a bit strong, so be warned! I have had to try four ruined recipes to get some semblance of real coffee. :)The best recipe for me was to put a single slightly mounded teaspoon of coffee and about half a teaspoon of sugar, fill a Turkish coffee cup (or espresso cup) with a jot of milk or creamer, put it in the pot and stir very very very very well. Put it on low-medium heat, and do NOT stir it once it is on the heat. The rest of the Turkish coffee recipe is simple - bring it up to a froth, spoon the froth/foam gently into the cup or cups, sharing the foam evenly between cups. Put it back to the low heat, but do not let it boil. Pour the coffee down the sidewall of the cup or cups once the pot forms little bubbles across the top - be gentle and go slow so as not to break the delicate foam in the cup and on the surface of the coffee. Place the cover on the coffee cup to retain heat, and let it sit til the grounds settle (it will take a few minutes). DO NOT stir it after putting it on the heat or while in the cup!:) Above all else - TRY THIS! It's amazing.

The Real Deal - Delivered Next Day
I am an American living in Turkey. My Turkish wife and I recently visited my college roommate, and she gave him two Turkish Coffee cups. After our next day return to Turkey, I sent him a YouTube video on how to make Turkish coffee and ordered this coffee and "cezve" (Turkish Coffee pot). The coffee (I can attest) is the Starbucks of Turkish Coffee. I read other reviews saying it was at or past expiration date, but I can't comment on that. What I know is that it was a hit, and I'm very pleased with my order.

Buy the coffee, get a free cezve - and it is good coffee!
While shopping for a small cezve coffee pot that was dishwasher safe I came across this package. For basically the price of a cezve this one included 12 oz of coffee. Then I searched to see what a tub of coffee sells for and thought - hey, great deal. I wasn't expecting the best cezve in the world, and this one is about as light duty as you'd expect "for free", but so far it has survived a few uses and a run through the dishwasher. Now, for the coffee - it is quite good for pre-ground! The date on the can was a long way from expiration so the coffee is assumed to be reasonably fresh, but it is quite smooth and not as bitter as most turkish cafe coffee I've had.So overall, a great bargain. The box it comes in is even attractive enough to gift a coffee snob that has everything.

Disappointed my Turkish (gift recipient) colleague
The package came promptly and undamaged. The fit and finish of the cezve is excellent. The coffee canister was vacuum packed, and hissed when the seal was broken. Unfortunately, I bought this for a Turkish colleague, who though pleased with my gesture, and though the brand is both famous and her favorite, remarked after making us each a fancin (demitasse) that the included pre-ground coffee barely had any flavor, as though it had been stored overlong. I'm no connoiseur, so I couldn't tell one way or the other -- it tasted like coffee to me -- but she says she'll bring me some from Istanbul the next time she visits.
