I’m no professional carver, but know decent tools. Looked at this set, for a while before I bought it. I figured it was a 50/50 chance. I was pleasantly surprised when I got them. Now, you get what you pay for, but for the amount of tools you get, it’s worth it. My only complaint, that’s not really a complaint, is they were coved in some nasty grease. I know it’s important for frighting rust, so that’s why I really have to give a pass. The problem is getting it off took some time. I used goof off, got it off, it’s just going to take gloves and chemicals. The edges for the most part were very good, I was able to touch them all up faster that the first part. The handles are all finished well, just a set that can take on any sized project. High value!

Good but chipped easily

The three sets come in three boxes with no roll.Of the sets, the one with the smallest blades is, of course, the most flimsy. Will require soft woods and constant sharpening, as is to be expected with tiny cheep blades. Other than that, though, I've been pretty happy. My lack of skill seems to be the only thing interfering with the work once I got a sharpener.

Meh, I mean, it’s a great set for beginners and novices to start with. But half of mine were dull, some of the bigger ones had rolled edges, and they were all tacky and covered in the rust prohibitive goo. Also, one of the boxes felt like it had gotten wet, so there’s that. Perfectly serviceable if you have the means to to sharpen chisels(which you should if you’re using them) bit I wouldn’t buy them as a gift or anything...you’re loved ones deserve better...

These little chisels are great for small projects, razor sharp and holds sharpness a long time. Stubby handles allows great pressured leverage with comfort on the piece you're working on regardless the wood (as long as it's not super hard--in which case, doubt any chisels would cut easily through hard woods). Small, medium and large sets make it easy to decide which to use for the effects desired. Carved some small artwork sketchings into pine and notches on walking cane. Did other smaller projects, it takes time (as opposed to machined carvings), but the result was just fine and fun!
