Wonderful book, what I have been looking for!
First, let me say that this book is not related to the diet book with a similar name by Michelle May. I'm mentioning that because I bought it because I thought it tied into the diet book. The two books are not related in any way except having too- similar titles.That being said, I love this book. I bought the hard cover book rather than the Kindle version, and it is a beautiful book . The paper , layout, and photographs are top quality. There are many full color photos, though not t of every recipe.My diabetic husband is very picky and hesitant to try anything new or even vaguely exotic. He could and has eaten the same bland dinner every night. I am more adventurous, but have been resistant to trying recipes that use artificial sweeteners. However we both need to lose weight. It's been very difficult to find any recipes that I like and are still suitable for him. I finally "saw the light" and realized I had to make some big changes if I hoped to lose weight. So I committed to using low sugar products,and sugar substitutes, and he committed to being open to try new foods. And this book really does it all for us. Every recipe I've tried has been successful, we both have liked it, and we are both losing weight. I use these recipes for dinner but you could plan all 3 meals a day plus snacks, sides,and desserts from this book; it covers everything. The recipes have been flavorful and interesting, yet not too far out of the range of familiar. This is not a beginner's " I don't know how to boil water" cookbook. You do need to have basic cooking skills like sautéing, making a sauce in the pan, how to follow a recipe, how to measure and mix ingredients for bakingPros: lots of recipes for everything-beverages, desserts, breads and muffins; all the recipes use common ingredients, nothing exotic, expensive or hard to find; there is detailed nutritional information; the recipes are suitable for diabetics as well as those who want to lose weight.Cons: many recipes use prepared foods including Splenda, canned soups etc. ( this wasn't a con for me but could be for anyone who wants to use all natural ingredients); this book is are probably not for people with particular requirements like food allergies, vegan, gluten intolerance etc.

This is the kind of cookbook I have been looking for!
I am doing Weight Watchers on my own the old points system. I was delighted when I saw this book has all the points figured for me. What I love most of all is these are good comfort foods not fancy-dancy foods I will never buy or make. These are ingredients that can be found at any grocery. I went through the book page by page right away and made a list of the things I needed. It was a long list as my spices are limited. I spent $100 to get everything for about 20 recipes. That will be a lot of food for weeks for me.First I made the stove top mac and cheese. I have been wanting some really good mac and cheese for months without the high fat and calories. It was easy to make and my first impression was it was okay to good but not GREAT. Well today I took the leftovers and put zero calorie butter in a baking dish. I added some chunks of lean canadian bacon which is 1 ww point per slice. So I added 1 Pt to each serving. Oh my goodness. Twenty minutes at 350 it was FANTASTIC!! I had the Frosty Chai Tea Freeze drink for desert. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. It was like one of those really expensive coffee house drinks that cost $5.I have made the pudding milkshake and I only had lemon frozen yogurt and it turned out great. Tomorrow I am making the oven baked zuchhini and one of the chicken dishes not sure which yet. I am so very happy I got this book.One more note. It uses Splenda frequently. I used to use that a lot but have learned it is not utilized by the liver well. So now I use Stevia or Truvia the trade name. I also went ahead and got the Agave necture, It has calories but it doesn't raise the blood sugar like regular sugar.If you are wanting easy good food that is made healthier and still tastes great.

Great Cookbook, and great for a Diabetic!
I received this book about a week ago and used it for the first time tonight. Being diabetic, I am always looking for recipes that work for me and the family. Basically, I need foods that are low in sugar and carbs, but big on flavor.I also just started on Weight Watchers,so I love that every recipe includes the Weight Watchers point value. Tonight I had some chicken tenders I needed to cook and I found a recipe for Orange Chicken Vegetable Stir-fry, with the orange sauce from the Quicker Than Take Out Orange Chicken recipe.I decided to try it since it sounded yummy and I had all the ingredients on hand. I made a couple of changes: Used regular orange juice instead of light, and added extra vegetables like mushrooms, zucchini, broccoli. The sauce called for 1/2 cup of Splenda, but I only had the small individual packets and used 6 of them. I served it over Quinoa.OMG!!! This was so amazingly delicious and everyone in the family loved it! It came out truly PERFECT! It has BIG FLAVOR! My husband said it was the best stir-fry I ever made!I found several other recipes that also looked amazing and will work for me. I usually have to avoid desserts, but even some of those looked like I might be able to enjoy them. I look forward to trying many more of the recipes in this book. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves to cook and eat, and who likes DELICIOUS recipes that have been perfected by tweaking them to reduce calories, fat, and carbs.
