Looks great, but be ready to customize!
As others have said, the instructions are vague and unhelpful. The design and assembly itself is pretty straight forward, so if you’re handy with tools it should be easy for you.As others have said, this kit is supposed to use the stock 10mm bolts - but those are going to be too short. You will need two M6 1.0 25mm bolts to make this work. I got mine at O’Reillys but most auto stores should carry them.As for my install, I wanted to use the stock bottom panel because if you install it like the instructions suggested (and remove the panel) there will several holes that stuff can fall into.So I used the stock bottom panel and therefore, I went with M6 1.0 30mm bolts to compensate for the extra thickness of the bottom panel. I drilled two holes into the panel that matches the bolt holes. The other hang up is that the lid will not close properly because of the rails. This is a design flaw. So I had to cut a notch (see pics) to allow the button enough room to open the arm rest. A dremel and about 10 mins was all it took. The rest is just aligning the bolts and tightening everything up so that the lid stay flat and flush. All in all, took me about 3 hours because I had to run out and find the bolts.

Nice product but tougher than explained installation
First off, when I opened the package I was impressed with the quality of the product. It was fairly heavy duty ( more so than I was expecting) and looked like decent quality! 5 stars based on first appearance! Then we got to the installation. The instructions given were small photos that were tough to see. The 2 cross bars that go across the bottom didn't match up with the factory holes on my center console mount. Only one of them was drilled and I had to drill the other one. The side piece that comes down and ties in bottom brackets and mounts the safe to my center console bolts was too short to fit my factory mounting spot and not drilled properly.Once I got things re-drilled and somewhat set up, the factory center console screws were too short to be screwed and this kit came with no new screws.Needless to say, installation process was a bit more of a challenge and not as easy as they specify. 1-2 stars on installation and needing to drill holes that should have already been in place.I'm not completely bolted up yet, but pretty much there. Overall, the final product appears secure and feels good.Note that the original felt flooring in the center console also will not work with this setup without a lot of cutting and trimming. I ordered some 1/16th" thick abs plastic to put down on the floor and up the sides to eliminate small/loose items disappearing under the console

Thicker Steel than the “Name” brand
Excellent value and clever design. I don’t know why this gets bad reviews in some places. It’s thicker than other brands, solid, thought through design. It will stop someone just trying to grab your stuff. If they want to take their time and be loud and destructive they can break the console and get in. Instructions are tiny. Careful when opening package, the bolts somehow end up all over the place in there? Like a raccoon packed it?? You will have to trim the steel that is by the factory console lid. Latch. It binds up and gets stuck! That scared me, thought I was going to break the latch! They should take this into consideration and save us the hassle, just a thought. Don’t hesitate to buy it, at the price you can’t go wrong. I was just pointing these things out for the company because packing it up better and making the adjustment would really make a difference. Glad someone else out there are making things like this and are not charging ridiculous prices. Thanks!Oh! It would be great if you made the Lock cut out 3/4 so it would receive a combo-cam lock without having to enlarge the hole.

Great alternative to the $400 stuff.
This is a great option for storage of small items especially since so many places limit what you can cary. The first one showed up with out keys or hardware but got a replacement quickly. Instructions are not really clear to read, the hardware that came with the 2nd one was not long enough I had to buy new bolts also helps it you enlarge the bracket cross bar holes a little. Highly recommended if you are not looking to spend 300-500 on a safe.Follow up, I left the OEM carpet in and cut bolt holes in it. The increased height seems to be a little issue with the OEM console door latch. It needs to be notched but over all it is a really nice set up.

Missing parts
Missing necessary screws to bolt into the console. Instructions are terrible as they only are photos with no real description.

Great little safe
Pretty slick and well designed safe for the price. Instructions were a little zoomed out and vague but if you have mechanical skills of a freakin dung beetle, like some of these reviewers, you may have issues. I literally installed this in 45minutes at night wearing a headlamp in truck. Its a beg help that the plates are threaded and theres no nuts besides the little knob nut. Id definately recommend to others.

Half as solid as youre expecting
Made of decent quality. Lock and hinge door do a decent job of securing and deterring theft. However only 2 of the legs actually bolt into the base of the console. As for the other 2 legs.. they are just kind of there as a base support. There are cross members to bolt to the other side of the legs but the holes were not tapped with the correct length so that's no good. You will need to measure and tap your own holes for the cross base members. And on top of that the original bolts that the only 2 legs are holding the whole thing together are only long enough for one leg of space to fit. So if you do end up using the cross bars at the base of the console then you will also need to get longer bolts to allow for the extra thickness of the cross plate and the leg of that point. Not a plug and play start to finish unless you only use half stuff and not worry about the cross bars at bottom. So all in all at a quick glance once installed it looks solid and will deter theft from a quick snatch and grab. But if someone was to stick anything in the front side of the console in a crack and pry.. it would pop right open like a teen on prom night. +1 for 2 keys. +1 for powder coat textured black.
