can i use metal in this?

You CAN NOT use metal cookware while in the pure microwave mode. However, YOU CAN use metal cookware while cooking in high or low mix or the convection settings.

Does this vent our the front/top, or in another direction? I'd like to consider adding it to an RV, but need to know if it requires an external vent.

This oven does not need an external vent. We have had it in 2 different RV, and we would not have any other ones. We love it !

Downloaded product manual and looked everywhere (including specs provided on this page) and cannot find CFM for fan. Can anyone say what it is?

Looking at the supplemental service manual, it says: "Horizontal Discharge 230 C.F.M., Vertical Discharge: 240 C.F.M."

Is this the same unit as the dacor pcor30s? it sure looks the same with a much lower price

I just bought this DACOR microwave and had to return it. The exhaust fan will turn on when using the connection oven and will not shut off for half an hour after the oven shut down. Might as well just put your ear next to a jet engine absolutely terrible. If you must get a convection microwave OTR make sure it’s a SHARP CONVECTION we’ve had two of them for over 20 years and they’re the best.
