Algebra 1/2 Homeschool Kit: An Incremental Development 3rd Edition

This is my favorite curriculum to teach for elementary, middle school or high school. I've used it as a teacher, parent, and for home schooling several of my sons. The solutions guides show step-by-step how to do the problems, and when to give the tests. The curriculum is spiraled so that you don't just do a unit on fractions, and then never see them again until next year... it builds on the concept, then gives that kind of a problem throughout the year. It also does a great job of developing reasoning and knowledge of math terminology through story problems. The math DIVE dvd goes well with this curriculum because it clearly explains each lesson by breaking down the new concept, and practicing several on a chalkboard. GREAT MATH CURRICULUM!

Love Saxon math, this kit is great. Comes w book, answer book, and how the problems are worked. Answers to the odd problems are in the back of the book

Second year homeschooling using Saxon Math. We first used it because my wife had used Saxon Math in her gifted program in high school. My son tested into this book using the Saxon Math placement test. First several lessons are very basic review. In looking at the first half of the book, I initially had concerns about how remedial it seems, however I do trust their process and so we are working through their curriculum as presented.

My daughter was terribly bored in math class and her small school does not have an option for advancing at a faster pace. So we are using this program at home. She really likes it and is flying through the book. Having the tests, answer key, and the solutions book for when we run into a question has been great. Next school year, she'll move onto the Algebra book. Glad we got it.

I received this product all packaged together in a plastic wrap, but when we looked closely at each book, the solutions manual and the homeschool packet books were third edition (as stated in the advertisement), however the textbook was second edition. The two editions don't correspond, so we are unable to use them at all.

This is very easy to understand and explains problems well. It is user friendly. My granddaughter reads the lesson and does it. She needs very little help from me. Often I need help from her. She is 13 and in the 8th grade.

Very clear and informative. In his first hour my son learned something that day school never teaches. With whole numbers never use the word 'and'.432 becomes four hundred thirty two.
