These marvelous gingerbread and chocolate cookies are perfect for Christmas.

These are just like those we ate in Germany. My absolute favorite at Christmas. The chocolate is smooth and balances the gingerbread perfectly. I’m trying to find more that will deliver before Christmas but so far none available. I’m grateful to have had these, which bring such flavorful nostalgia during the holidays.

I love these cookies. I couldn't get them locally this year, so I decided to order from Amazon. I was happy to see them available! They arrived slowly, but they were in good shape. I paid a lot to get one package of these, and even paid expedited shipping as it was shipping to my vacation home so I only had limited time there. LOVED all of them dunking them in my hot coffee. I will continue to seek these at a lesser price locally, but was happy to have them in limited quantity as a part of my holiday this year.

Only available at Christmas time. Couldn't find any local this year. So happy that these were available - even if a bit expensive.

I've always really enjoyed Bahlsen cookies, and love ginger so was looking forward to these. They were a total disappointment. Tough, tasteless except for horribly sweet, crumbly, just terrible. Chocolate not chocolately, ginger lacking any ginger flavor. I hope their other products remain as good as they used to be because these are just dreadful.

I grew up eating these in Germany. They are really, really good! I would have given five stars for the cookies, but they are grossly overpriced! I only got them because it is tradition in our home, and my daughter has been asking about them. I understand they are imported, but they are around $3 in Europe, and some stores here in the US sold them for $4.99. I am out of town, and that is why I got them here, grinding my teeth.

Although I gave it only 3 stars, it really isn't a bad product. The gingerbread was fragrant, soft, and had a nice, subtle sweetness to it. The thin chocolate coating was, for a lack of better description, very "crisp". (Think of the candy coating on an M&M candy.) When I first bit into the cookie, the chocolate didn't quite melt on my tongue as much as I expected it to. It was more of a crunch which, for some people, is a really nice contrast between the soft, gingerbread cookie, but it didn't really work well for me. Although it wasn't a bad texture, this is just where personal preferences kick in. However, as one reviewer mention, the chocolate was definitely the high-quality stuff. It was not the partially hydrogenated garbage that leaves a really unpleasant texture in your mouth. The chocolate was good. It was very rich and, well, chocolatey. However, the cookies were a bit smaller than I thought they would be. Not being very familiar with the metric system, it didn't immediately click that 200g is approximately 0.44 lbs, so I was a bit disappointed at the size of the cookies. They're a little less than 3 cm in diameter, or roughly 7 centimeters. Normal-sized for most cookies, but for almost $10... Hm. However, since it was a misunderstanding on my part, my review and product score does not take this into account. Overall, it is a very good product. Would I buy this again? Probably not. The cookies themselves did taste good and it's obvious that some good-quality ingredients were used, but it really wasn't anything spectacular. A slightly-above average cookie, overall. However, they are definitely a nice treat and I would have no problem recommending this product to anyone who loves gingerbread.
