"C" Rings are rusty after one month of use

installed these on Twin Bravo III about a month along with brand new Anodes. The "C" rings are all rusty and leaving rust stains on the piston rods.Very disappointed, I expected this amount of rust to appear after one year, but not in one month.Yes, I rinse with fresh water EVERY time the boat comes out of salt water.So now looks like I will be replacing these at the end of the season, I will look for a different manufacturer that maybe uses better materials.Also in one of the 4 kits I ordered, one of the scraper rings had some sort of a defect, it gouged one of my piston rods and I had to reuse the original.Maybe I just got these kits from a bad batch.

Do your homework before ordering.

The do not fit all of the drives listed in the Product Description. The are for '83 and later drives. Buyer beware, do your research. Waste of my time and money.

Incorrect material was used on scraper causing scratched piston

Oil scraper is Mfg of stainless steel, where stock is Mfg of brass. The scraper caused deep scratches in the finely polished piston. Very disappointed. Reused stock scraper and it solved the issue.

Carbon steel not stainless steel

Would not recommend. I opened up my first kit and noticed surface rust on the depression ring so I took a magnet to them and all three were magnetic. So they were carbon steel not stainless steel.Would not use in fresh or especially saltwater application. We'll start resting fast and fail in no time.
