Can u record and then loop on this

Yes, but only with an attached laptop. The unit carries no sounds or instruments itself. You load the included Maschine software (and there's lots of sounds in this) onto your laptop, then create loops etc by using the Mikro controller. You can create or edit the beats directly in the software too, so that imperfect recordings can be corrected. I use the one-up controller from this with the Maschine software and it's brilliant for looping and recording, but the Mikro does just the same job.

Does it come with komplete 12 select or just maschine essentials?

Just Maschine Essentials; or at least mine did. Anyway, go to the NI website or Music Matter for far better bundle deals until the end of June.
