Q: What issues might I have if I use this as a backup sump pump in a house?

I’m not a plumber but I think you may be setting yourself up to fail. 1. Max flow may sound like a lot but it slows down depending on how far you have to lift it. Sorry, this just ain’t gonna work like you will expect

Q: Does this pump come complete, or do i have to buy motor or fittings seperatly?

This pump is just a standard pump. It is simply a motor (12v) attached to a impeller. There is threaded in-flow and out-flow ports. Due to many variations on what kind and size of water lines used, you will have to purchase separately all fittings. All you get is motor and impeller (pump). Mine is hooked up to a battery for power and water is pumped out of pond. Discharge is a garden hose.

Q: The flojet 18550000a macerator pump has a barbed 1" discharge port. can i cut the end of clean dump cdhv-20 hose to fit over the barb with clamp?

Yes, that is how I have mine set up....if you are referring to the 1 inch blue clean dump hose. I recently replaced my pump...and i used the original blue 1 inch clean dump hose that has the spiral rap looking winding in the hose. Worked perfectly.
