Chess Set

The board arrived broken twice. Great chess set but the packaging is a joke. This was a Christmas present, and my son was thrilled, but was a disappointment to have to return. The second set arrived in a worse state than the first. A little more care packaging the product and it would be a great purchase.

I ordered this and the plastic base that holds the glass up was shattered (see pictures). The pieces were fine and so was the glass. I then purchased a second one while the first one was being refunded, and it also arrived broken!The problem seems to be the plastic base is hollow & slightly warped, so any pressure in the middle of the plastic base will crack it. Admittedly, this is a beautiful chess set (especially for the price), but it's VERY fragile. The 2nd one I recieved was broken into 4 large pieces, so I'm going to keep it and apoxy/JBWeld it together & then paint it.ANYONE THINKING ABOUT BUYING THIS - BE WARNED - IT WILL PROBBLY ARRIVE BROKEN.

Excellent chess set for a collection or for everyday play.A real fun piece.

I first saw this chess set at the local Renaissance Festival at a much higher price. Thank goodness I decided to wait and do some research. This is an awesome looking chess set and I am very pleased with my purchase.

I would have gave this item 5 stars but it's hard to get one not broken. Its beautiful and will be gifted to my Dad. I thought It was other companies so I decided on Amazon and still had to order 2. It's just very fragile on the bottom board and towers. Other than that great piece.

The product itself is broken, but amazon is shipping a new one. The base was previously broken and poorly repaired, then broken again at some point. The chess pieces are solid and the glass is frosted. Overall I’m excited about this gift, I hope the second one will be better

Really well made and truly a beautiful chess set

I don't think it was the manufacturer's fault, but when it arrived it was broken. Maybe they should put labels on the outside to let people know it has fragile pieces and to handle with care.
