Q: does this have paper on it? iron it on and THEN take the paper off and fuse your fabric toghether? if so that's what i am looking for. thanks..

No. The material is similar to the anti static sheets for the dryer (except in tape form). You fold fabric where you want hem and place strip inside the fold then iron. Works great.

Q: which side do you iron on? smooth or rough

It doesn't matter which side. Just don't leave your iron on the tape too long.

Q: can it be used for hemming men's jeans? is that too heavy a material?

I wouldn't use it for the jeans, not just because of heavy material, but also because of repeated washing. I used it for hemming some curtains and it worked great!

Q: What is the temp setting on the iron, and will it work on nylon?

I have used iron on tape many times. This one is pure junk. It melted on the fabric, but did NOT bind it NO MATTER what setting. It ruined my iron, taking me 2 hours to clean it. It TOTALLY RUINED my ironing board cover and I will need to buy a new one. Worst product EVER.
