The new Giro Vuebrings together an easy to fit and comfortable helmet with an Integrated Shield to protect your eyes. The Integrated Shield will protect your eyes and face from the cold, wind and sun while giving you a wide field of view. Plush Foam on the bridge of the nose and cheekbone area of the visor feels very comfortable on your face and will seal the elements out. The Visor can be flipped up when you want to have a conversation on the chairlift and flipped down when you are ready to charge down the mountain. Giro's Thermostat Control has adjustable vents on the top of the helmet that can be opened and closed to regulate your temperature and prevent overheating. The Vue has the In Form Fit System that uses a dial located on the back of the helmet that can be cranked for a comfortable and safe fit. Cool, but not quality and cool
I had been looking at the Kask integrated helmets for a year and thought I would try a less expensive alternative to that premium line in the Giro. First off, the lens/visor is the most delicate I have ever come across as it got its first deformity when TSA decidedly forced the helmet back into its provided case. They didn't care when I told them they scratched it before I got 1 snow day with it. The scratch, minor as it was expanded into a penny's size blur over 1.5 ski days before I flat out gave up, but that alone was not why I gave up. The seal between my face and the lens was poor, regardless of how loose or tight the helmet was fit. The second day was slightly foggy and the lens took mild visibility and raised the difficulty of seeing to legally blind with cataracts. That is when I gave up. I wanted to love this thing, but it did not work for me
