Nicely built, but top knife storage does not work properly
The chest came as described. Solidly built with a nice finish. However, the slots in the top portion for knives does not hold them in place. The slot openings are short and it does not have any band across the top of the knives to hold them in place as I have seen in other chests owned by friends and family. Did not return it as it was as described and holds all I need.

best i could find for my needs (large flatware), but still not perfect!
The media could not be loaded. If I could design a new box, I'd like the drawer to be more modular and I'd like for there to be extra pieces (felt-covered cubes or cuboids) to keep items from banging into each other. There ARE slots within this box, but items still kind of swivel at the necks and so they don't stay perfectly stacked if the box is moved or if you are messing around with stuff. I just place some cloths between stacks to keep them from banging against one another and to keep the items in each stack from rubbing against each other. But that means that for now I can't just quickly place items in the box, which takes extra time. I will be looking for some felt-covered separators. Also, the drawer is kind of awkward for my items. I'll attempt to post a video.edit: k, video was posted. yes, it's awful. was done very quickly just to get some points across.

Silver doesn’t fit as awl
Silver holders not arranged as well as other chests. Beautiful shape for used. Ok for my gift but inconvenient to use for my own silver collection.

flatware storage
I purchased this item after carefully viewing it on site but when the item arrived it was different to the advertised product.Amazon then sent a replacement product to me, unfortunately the second one was also different (like the first one) no leather inlay on the top, so returned both items back to Amazon.I have to give credit to Amazon as they were extremely helpful to me with sending both items back with return mail addresses, also the refunding in full, the cost of each chest & the mailing/postal charges. As I live in Perth, Western Australia the postage for these heavy items was very expensive & Amazon have also refunded the postage that I paid.I was very impressed with the communications with the staff & would encourage anyone to contact a staff member when a problem arrises no matter how small & regardless of the time difference.Good Work Amazon & Thank You. I will continue to buy the great products you have up for sale.Helen 'R' Perth, Western Australia.

silver storage chest
It is an attractive solid chest nicely finished. It had ample room to store the place settings as well as the serving pieces.

Seems Expensive
I've never owned a silverware storage chest before so this one seems pretty expensive for what you get. There is no "brown leather inlay" so buyer beware. You can see some wood grain showing through the coating on the top - and the coating almost seems like plastic. With that said, there is a slight bow to the front which is attractive and the drawer pulls are burnished which look nice also. The lid knob was a little loose but I was able to get a small screwdriver up in there to tighten it. The inside is roomy although my new knives are so big they were difficult to fit in the slots on the inside of the lid. Overall it's okay so I'm keeping it, but it seems a pretty expensive price for the defects on the top of the lid.
