Great, slightly tight around calf
So these are great. Acorn is a notable brand but they are made in China, not Maine, to be clear. These are super comfortable and the pair I received were well-stitched and sizing was symmetrical for both socks (some reviews note that theirs seemed irregular or poorly made.) They are meant to go up mid calf, which they can, but as a female with normal legs ordering the L (for women’s size 11-12) these were definitely pretty tight up the leg, plenty of room and width in foot area. So on a man with normal to thicker legs, I would assume these would too tight to even put your foot in. I just cuff them and they’re fine for me, but it’s worth noting. Also I was worried that the suede bottoms may not be skid-resistant enough for my all hardwood flooring but it totally is.

Bought cotton Ragg and they fit over my foot and ankle with ease
I bought these slippers in Cotton Ragg and they fit over ankle and leg with ease. Were correct in lengthusing the Medium size. My foot usually needs a 10-11 size women's slipper. Originally, I bought the Wool Ragg and they were way too tight to fit over the foot and ankle. Gave them to my grandaughter who is super skinny and has same length foot and they fit her fine.

They are bigger than I thought
Haven't used much because it's too big, but seems a lot better made than the Mukluks that I reviewed previously

Size is way large
Good little sock thing, but size down.

I've been wearing these my whole life….
12/2018 - UPDATE #3 (revisiting this product after a recent purchase)Gave these another chance after an ancient pair finally became unwearable. Happy to report that the quality and fit have improved since my last purchase attempt and return in early 2017.Measuring a Men's US 10.5, I purchased a LARGE, which fit perfectly, like an ever so slightly roomy sock (about 1/2 size larger than my foot). Sizing is confusing at best here on Amazon. Would recommend the manufacturer really clear up the way it's listed. Currently there are conflicting size guidelines. The Amazon provided 'Size Chart' link lists a Men's LARGE as US 10.5-11.5, the drop-down purchase size option lists a Men's LARGE as US 9-10, the Acorn Web Site 'Size Chart' shows a Men's LARGE as US 9-10, the packaging I received (with a brown chart on the side) shows a Men's LARGE as US 9-10, while some alternate packaging (orange chart), shown in photos of some reviews, lists a Men's LARGE as US 10.5-11.5. Confused? Me too. I went with a LARGE and it fits my Men's US 10.5 foot. But if you are a US11, I'd size up to an XL.Previous issues with the ankle being too tight were resolved with my pair. Currently they fit as I remember they have all my life. Will report back if there are durability issues, but for now I'm optimistic Acorn has gotten their act together once again.Have deducted 1 star due to the sizing being so confusing and counterintuitive.2/2017 - UPDATE #2 (to my previous reviews below, from 5 stars originally to 3 and now 1):OK, I bit the bullet and ordered a new pair of these in XL. The length is fine, the construction looks OK, but as others have reported, the ankle is now SO tight, they are difficult to get on. The force required is such that it will only be a matter of time before they start to tear. Not to mention they are uncomfortable. I've NEVER had this problem with these slipper socks. As I've said in previous reviews, I've been a customer for decades.Something has happened to ACORN. Their manufacturing has radically declined. It's sad to see a trusted, once American Made product, go down the tubes. I hope that ACORN gets it together and evaluates their quality control. As for now, the brand is unwearable for me.2/2017 - UPDATE #1 (to my previous review below):Though I still like this product, I find they are not as durable as they once were. I see others reporting the same issue both here and on the ACORN website. This appears to have coincided with moving manufacturing out of the US. I hope that ACORN takes notice and improves this product and returns to their previous high standards.----------------------------------------------------------------------1/2014 - I grew up with these and every decade or so I need a new pair. Yes, I said "decade." So pleased that they still make them. The quality remains excellent. My foot measure a US men's 10.5, I wear 11-12's depending on the shoes (usually 11.5) and these fit perfectly.Need I say more?

These slipper socks are as great as I remember them from 50 years ago!
I used to enjoy slipper socks when I was very young in the 1950's. When I found these I had to try them. And I sure am glad I did! They are every bit as wonderful as I remembered. These are made of wool with a cushioned sole. The fit well, they wear well, and the non-slop soles are proving to be very sure footed.Give these a try! You will be satisfied, just like me!

Well made. Not convenient to put on. Not sure footed.
Good if you plan to sit around for an evening. Warm, comfortable. No sweaty feet. But not good for slipping on quickly. Wool sides do not support or hold sole in place, so if you need sure footing (knee issues, balance issues) strongly not recommended. Moccasin slippers have much better grip.

Warm
I love them. Very warm. I wear a size 9 and ordered the medium. It fits just right. A little tight in the leg but I am sure they will stretch as I wear them better and be a little tight now then fall down.

sock part too long
the product was for my husband and he found the socks too tight, it was difficult to put on.

Good quality but does not stretch
Good quality however, the sock/upper portion did not offer any stretch or give. I bought these for my Dad who is 6'7 and wears size 14-15 shoe. I ordered size 13.5-14.5. The sock was tight to pull over top of his foot (high instep) however, the actual leather/length was decent.

Long lasting
New at the top old at the bottom which I have had for about 25 years, I wish the old version was still made as you could still wear your normal socks with ease but the new ones are warm and just need wearing in for a few years.

Good Quality, fits large
These are thick and warm with a nice padded sole. Great for at home or getting out of your hiking boots when camping in dry conditions (not waterproof). They fit really big though. I'm an 11 in every shoe I own but had to return the 10.5-11.5 size as they were 1.5" too long in the footbed.
