Why Socialism Works

Thought provoking, deeply analytical, insightful read. 10/10
For most of my life, I have never understood the opposing party's thought processes and goals. I had always observed them as the enemy, burning down cities, attempting to violently dismantle our institution, beating people with bike locks. I had seen people who believed in socialism attempt to tear this country apart. I had my mind made up. That was, until I read this insightful book. Not only does it cover the basics of how socialism works, it uncovers the thought processes and conclusions those who believe in it have. This has helped me better understand the other side, and I can say that I now see their point. This book is so elegantly written, by the time I reached page 50, I had tears in my eyes. Everything is structured perfectly, in a thought provoking, but easy to digest format.Ignore the negative reviews, they are all from hard Right, borderline extremist conservatives that don't understand the nuance of this amazing book. Don't think about it, just buy this book for your friends and trust me, you won't regret it. 10/10, must read!

It's spreading
This book goes very in-depth on why socialism works. I showed my boss, and he loved the concept so much that he ordered one for himself and showed our CEO. The CEO took one look and ordered one for himself as well. Now it sits on his desk, ready for anyone to challenge him on whether socialism works.I have had many debates with my friends who were on the fence, and this book has helped me convince them to come to my side. 10/10 would recommend(P.S. This is a joke book. Don't take the book or my review seriously, but do buy the book.)

Perhaps the Greatest Book Ever Written About Socialism!!!
This Book was clearly written by an author who has a firm grip on all aspects of Socialism and Socialism's place in the history of the world. It covers all aspects of Socialism, from Light "Democratic" Socialism to the endgame of full on Soviet style Communism. Any and all aspects of the Socialist system are covered in depth by this finely written book. This book should be a must read for all school children, all the way through and especially college aged children. It will make the perfect gift for any Bernie voter, Democratic Socialist, or anyone else who may think giving Socialism a try would be a good thing. This would make a really good gift for young people who cheer and tout Socialism, but when questioned do not really understand the system they claim will fix everything for free. Now with this book, they will have all the knowledge they need to be articulate when discussing the finer points of Socialism. I really can not recommend this book enough. In fact, the only people who would not benefit from this book are Americans who moved here from Socialist or Communist countries, because they are already well aware of how Socialism works. So don't delay, buy a copy for every Socialist leaning person on your Christmas list. They should thank you for it.

The authors succinct and powerful message cannot be overstated
I gave this book five stars for numerous reasons. In the words of Albert Einstein "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough."The author entices the reader with a simple and concise, yet eloquent and complete explanation of socialism. I'm sure this will go down as one of the greatest texts ever written on the subject. I found myself furiously consuming the words on each page, totally engrossed in the text. It seemed I couldn't turn the pages fast enough! I highly recommend this book to anyone studying the subject of socialism as it is sure to give you the best possible understanding of the subject.I would especially suggest this seminal work to any and all supports of Bernie Sanders as this will give you unbelievable insight on exactly what he has been espousing for years. If you read the text and study it carefully, I promise you will have a near doctoral command and understanding of socialism.

A good book in the search of more knowledge
When I saw the reviews for this title I knew I had to make a purchase.I'm not the type to buy books for reading pleasure but normally to broaden my knowledge of the things around me. I love to work with my hands and work on projects or I'll read articals to learn about the world and the universe around us, to learn how things work, what has been tried, what has failed and what has stayed true for years! This title was a journey for me from the first page to the last. Was a complete journey and has opened my eyes to world around me even more! If your in search for enlightenment and your on the fence about this purchase, pull the trigger. You will not be disappointed! I know I wasn't.

Fine Literature
Amazing read. Wether you’re capitalist or socialist, this book gives a fresh new perspective on the subject. I dove deep into the mind of what it means to be a socialist to better inform myself on the subject as apposed to making uneducated rebuttals to my family and friends. I realized I knew how to defend my stance on capitalism but was ill equipped to refute the pros and cons of socialism. I’m a firm believer of understanding both sides of an argument before “dying on a hill” of any given position... this book provides just that. 10/10

Gets straight to the point
For me this book nails the subject on page one and follows with page after page of example and confirmation backing up the points raised in the earlier chapters. It is strong on fact (taking into account all known examples of socialist governments and regimes throughout history up to the modern day) and light on wishy-washy conjecture or long-winded theoretical debate. This is not a book for the academic purist wishing to endlessly debate the finer points of difference between differing 'flavours' of socialism, though I dare say it's wide ranging overview of the subject would help enliven many a dry-to-read political scientist's work on the subject.I think for critics of socialism this book should not be seen as something to avoid, another "waffling treatise full of confirmation bias from an author already converted to the cause" or simply a manual to brainwash those who might not believe in the one-true-socialism (yet) - rather it should be approached with an open mind - after all, you might learn something and there's no place in this world for those unwilling to face such a comprehensively all-encompassing and factually precise review of the subject - ignore this book at your peril would be my humble advice. If there is any criticism to be levelled at the author it's that he hasn't as yet followed up with a more detailed precis on each socialist regime (and his conclusion as to why it worked) - I feel such a work would build upon the solid foundations laid in this book and would be an excellent beacon of light to shine the way for those intending on not just being "armchair socialists" or "social-media socialist warriors" but would be an invaluable guide to activists and those aspiring to be future leaders of socialist regimes - no matter how small or large in ambition. My 4 star rating is not a 5 only because of the lack of such a follow-up narrative - but don't let this put you off - I have very high standards and this book does not fail to meet them. Enjoy.

Very good read
As a budding capitalist, this gave me the perfect insight as to how socialist principalities are perceived and how they are enforced, worth the 20 shekels I paid for it.

Gripping
Thorough and fully comprehensive. No credits in the book but wondering whether the author is from Venezuela?

It has 2-3 words in it
The book title should change to "why capitalism works" as it has zero value but priced at £7.99. People like me who trust the website and reviews yo buy this product are the people feeding capitalism. Extremely disappointed with this product (this is not a book). If I had the option I would put zero star
