Soap for cleaning leather
This is a review for Rhino Wax Saddle Soap. The soap comes in eco friendly packaging with a message admitting it is not as user friendly, but thanking the customer for choosing it regardless.I would agree the packaging is not very user friendly, as the only complaint I have for the soap is the application process. It comes in a deodorant stick like package, with the options for application being, directly rubbing the stick onto your leather, or rubbing your brush/rag onto the stick and then scrubbing the leather with it.The method that worked better for me was rubbing the stick onto the leather, as this was the fastest way to get enough soap onto the leather to create a good lather.Once I got the soap onto the leather, I dipped my brush into warm water and scrubbed away in circular motions.I would recommend getting most of the dirt/mud off your leather first using a wet rag, and then use this saddle soap to get it completely clean.I did have to google the Rhino Wax website to look for instructions on how to use the Saddle Soap, as they did not include any with my order. The soap did a good job getting the leather clean, without completely stripping it of all its natural oils. This is because the ingredients include olive oil, beeswax and castor oil in addition to the Castile soap.I have included a photo 'before' and 'after' the cleaning, once the boots had completely dried. For the price, I feel this is a good soap to use for your boots, saddles, purses etc that need a good cleaning. Just be prepared for annoying packaging/application.

First step in caring for leather goods.
I have a leather backpack purse that has seen better days, it had gotten so beaten up but I wasn’t ready to part with it, I loved it so much. So I thought I’d try the Rhino Wax products to see if I could resuscitate it. This was step 1 of 4.After wiping off the backpack, I used the saddle soap to clean it with a dauber brush. It dries quickly, so I worked in sections, cleaning and then wiping. Swirled it on one section with dauber brush, then wiped with microfiber towel and repeated on the next section. (Don't be too stingy with either soap or water in order to create a good lather.) Cleaned entire backpack, straps, and every buckle and zipper pull, then let it dry overnight. It darkens at first, then lightens as it dries. I let it dry for a full day. I took a "before" photo as a starting point, the other two photos are of after using the saddle soap, and then after using the oil and conditioner as well -- huge difference! It looked only a little better after using the saddle soap, but it was definitely cleaner, and it was the first step in the process. (Leather oil, conditioner and waterproofer to follow.)

Good product
I like this product. It works well and helps me bring shoes/boots back to life, while also cleaning & protecting them. I restore and clean shoes/boots so this definitely comes in handy and works well for me.

Good style, but kinda messy
I really like the product. It cleans my boots very well. And I do like the styling of the container. Its very unique considering I've been using the metal cans with the weird lids for decades. Probably the only slight issue is that if you push too much out, the cap smooshes it when you close it. Theres no easy way to retract the wax, you just have to be careful how much you use. But overall, I really like the product. I typically use mink oil as well, but after cleaning with this, and letting it dry over night, I felt the boots were sufficiently moisturized and protected as is. So really convenient.

Works great on lots of leathers
This tin works great as a conditioner and cleaner for all kinds of leathers like boots, holsters, and mitts. It also worked great on a saddle and some tack. I am not sure i would use this on some finished items like couches or jackets or underwear but for the stronger stuff its great. It rejuvenated some hardened lightly cracked leather. It helped to break in some new leather. And it really helped with some worn and dirty leather. If you like your leather, i suggest trying a bit of this.

Good for riding boots
My daily wear riding boots are used hard and several years old, but they fit like a second skin and are comfortable. Taking care of them is paramount - I'm not looking to pony up several hundred dollars for new boots any more often than necessary. This saddle soap does a nice job deep cleaning the boots and the difference is dramatic afterwards. It's thick, but spreads out and covers a lot of surface area without a ton of effort. The boots are softer and look great 24 hours later. My issue is the weak cardboard tube dispenser. It's prone to squeezing and the edges collapse a bit with just one use. (Think about the old ice cream push pops) this would be easier to deal with and use in a traditional tin.
