Nice book. Good size. Good paper. Would buy again. Great for art journaling.

I'm on my 4th of these books now. I mostly use them for journalling and drawing in ink. I love the feel of the paper. Its very heavy weight at 200gsm so no bleed through which is a must for me. I can use both sides of the each page. The quality of the paper is good and has just enough texture to avoid smudging when working in ink. (I find other brands to shiny/smudgy) It is true the book doesn't lie completely flat when open but this isn't a problem for me as I don't work across the double spread. On the plus side, the spine doesn't break or sprain.The cover stands up to some pretty tough usage. I carted mine around and used it every day for six months. There was some scuffing on the corners but it held up just fine.Bottom line - Its a lovely book, great paper, pretty hard wearing and a pleasure to journal in. I'm hooked and won't use anything else.

The book was delivered on time and wrapped in cellophane without any rips or tears. However, once I took the wrapping off, the middle signature had pages folded and ripped. I don’t think this is the store’s fault though. The papers seemed to have been damaged during the manufacturing process. One of the pages was like a 2 ply napkin that had the sheets separated. On the whole, a couple of damaged pages isn’t really a huge problem but I’d be really unhappy if it was a gift for someone else.

I have been searching for a "portrait" format sketchbook to supplement my usual choice of Moleskine watercolour sketchbooks (which open to a wide landscape format) for drawing and painting outdoors. I need it to be able to take watercolour and for me to be able to draw and paint across the double page spread if the picture demands it. There really is so little available with thick enough paper for watercolour in a hardback, bound (as opposed to ring or spiral) book that I though this Fabriano book might just do. It is slightly larger than ideal for me, but I was prepared to compromise. It looks nice and is well made and finished. The paper is good quality and, whilst I would like it a bit thicker, might take light washes.The problem I have with it is that it is not designed for an artist who wants to use it for sketching outdoors. The spine is too tight so it will not open and lie flat. You cannot draw effectively in a book that is always trying to close on your hand and which you have to strain to keep open. All my other sketchbooks - Moleskine, Daler, Derwent, Khadi - even Paperchase! - do so with no problem, though W&N need a bit of coaxing before they do. I have tried forcing it open, easing it back and forth but it still won't stay reasonably flat. Now I have done that the book gapes open in various places. I am also not sure that the cover paper will hold up to much usage. It is very attractive, but doesn't seem as tough as the very tough spine.This is a nice vanity product, perfect as a nice gift to someone you don't know that well, it is classy looking, but I cannot imagine anyone enjoying using it - certainly not for drawing and painting. I usually want to try out any new paper or sketchbook straight away, I have had this for some weeks and every time I pick it up it annoys me. If and when I do try it I will update the review, but my guess is that I will never actually use it. Very disappointing.

Good size for sketching on the go !!! Not too small or too large so it’s easy to fit into a regular sized bag . The paper is very good quality to with wet materials too . Hard backed ! 👍

This is a great little sketchbook that takes watercolor very well. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with an elastic band so you have to make one yourself to help the pages to flatten. I really enjoy drawing in this book, that while it's high quality, doesn't feel so precious that you can't just mess around in it!

What a beautifully crafted art journal. It inspires one to fill it with art that reflects the same level of care. As a visual journal it will make a record of your life to treasure.

Das Zeichenheft ist wunderbar. Die Seiten sind dick. Meine Mutter malt mit Filzstiften und es scheint nichts durch. Die Lieferung kam zum vorausgesagten Termin. Es war gut verpackt. Bin sehr zufrieden.
