The only metal is the screws and casters and the table is a little bit flexible. I could see it lasting a very long time if used gently like an end table normally would be. Also I stripped out one screw because I overturned it, so be gentle. Overall I actually really love the table. Again,the design and craftsmanship is really nice and I like that it's made out of bamboo and for the price I think it's a lot better than one of the other metal tables. One improvement that would make it sturdier would be to embed T nuts at the the posts ends and then using bolts instead, of wood screws. Overall 9/10, I really like it.
