Robo Alive Robo Fish Robotic Swimming Fish (Blue + Red) by ZURU Water Activated, Changes Color, Comes with Batteries, Amazon Exclusive (2 Pack) Series 3

I originally bought these for my cat to play with in water, even though they’re marketed as a children’s toy. He absolutely loves them. The first few times he played with them, he would “hunt” them out of the water, carry them over to his little lair, and look so proud of himself. 😂 I’ve used them in the bathtub, in the sink, and even in a bowl for him to splash around in. I bring them out every week or so, and I’ve had them since June. It’s now October, and the original batteries are still going, which I’m pretty impressed by. Since these are small children’s toys, I do supervise him when he plays with them. They’re about the size of a cat’s mouth, so I’m especially careful when he takes them out of the water. I don’t think he would try to eat one, but they’re small enough that it’s something I’m conscious of. Obviously, these aren’t marketed as cat toys, but they’ve been a really fun way to give my cat something different to play with. The fish themselves have held up well, and he still gets excited when I bring them out.

These are great fishes, my cat loves them and will get in the tub to bat them around. Wish they would run longer I have to reset them a few times a session, but they work well and the batteries last multiple weeks before needing replacing.

The Robo Fish has been an enchanting addition to my home, captivating both the young and the young at heart with its lifelike swimming action. This robotic swimming fish has not only added a dynamic element to our living space but has also served as an engaging and maintenance-free pet alternative. Its realistic movements and vibrant design have turned our fishbowl into a mesmerizing spectacle, offering endless entertainment and fascination. From the moment I activated the Robo Fish in water, I was impressed by how convincingly it mimics the swimming patterns of a real fish. Watching it dart around, change directions, and even dive has been a source of constant amusement. It's remarkable how such a simple toy can so effectively capture the essence of fish behavior, bringing a piece of the aquatic world into our home without the need for feeding or tank cleaning. The build quality of the Robo Fish is noteworthy. It's durable enough to withstand the enthusiastic hands of children eager to play with their new aquatic friend. This resilience is essential for a toy that spends all its time in water, and the Robo Fish has proven itself to be both reliable and long-lasting. The attention to detail in its design, from the scales to the tail fin, adds to its charm, making it a visually appealing addition to any room. Another aspect I appreciate is the educational value the Robo Fish offers. It's been a fantastic tool for sparking curiosity about marine life and the mechanics behind robotic movement. Discussions about how the fish works and why real fish move the way they do have been both fun and informative, making the Robo Fish not just a toy but a learning experience. The convenience factor of the Robo Fish cannot be overstated. As someone who has always appreciated the beauty of aquatic life but hesitated at the commitment required for a real fish tank, this robotic fish has been the perfect compromise. It brings the aesthetic and interactive benefits of having fish without any of the upkeep. **TL;DR:** The Robo Alive Robo Fish has exceeded my expectations, offering a captivating and hassle-free way to enjoy the beauty of fish swimming in my home. Its realistic movements, durability, and educational potential make it a hit for families or anyone looking to add a touch of whimsy and wonder to their living space. This robotic fish has provided hours of enjoyment and curiosity, making it a standout addition to our collection of interactive toys.

Bought these for my cat to watch and play with. They really get her attention and she loves them! I am impressed by how much they resemble real fish when they move in the water. I see that there are some reviews on here that complain about the battery life. I haven't had that issue but I will say that I have yet to figure out exactly how they turn on and off. They just kind of.... turn on by themselves when they are messed with. Sometimes they turn on randomly on the shelf when they are not being used. They will also randomly turn off while in use for no apparent reason. Most of the time, they turn right back on after being proded a little, but not always. Turning them off because you want them off can sometimes be difficult. I have found that holding the fish on its side and applying a small amount of pressure to the tail fin is the most reliable method of getting them to stop, but it is not always effective.

These are very cute but unfortunately one of our two fish only worked one single time, even after replacing the batteries. For 15 bucks it’s a big investment for something that doesn’t last very long.

As a parent, I've navigated my fair share of tricky waters, especially when it comes to the Herculean task of convincing a toddler that bath time is actually a FUN TIME! In a stroke of parental genius and after meticulous research, my wife purchased these Robo Alive Robotic Fish. It was a calculated move to introduce a novel element into the bath time equation, aimed at tipping the scales in our favor. The result? A resounding success! These robotic fishes, with their lifelike movements, had our little one hooked from the get-go. They possess a certain "Finding Nemo" charm, making them instantly recognizable and, therefore, instantly beloved by our young critic. Indeed, these fishes serve as a lightweight yet effective bargaining chip, transforming bath time from a chore into an eagerly anticipated adventure. From a product standpoint, the only hiccup in this otherwise seamless operation is the battery life. However, given the competitive pricing, maintaining a strategic reserve of these aquatic allies is not only feasible but advisable. This minor challenge is a small price to pay for the peace of bath time FUN! Encouraged by the positive impact on our household's morale, we expanded our tactical engagement to include other products from the Robo Alive line, discovering a treasure trove of options to further enrich our bathtime toolkit. For parents in the trenches, looking for a creative solution to the bath time standoff, the Robo Alive Robotic Fish offers a clever, cost-effective, and delightfully engaging strategy. It's a testament to the power of innovative thinking in overcoming the age-old challenges of parenthood. Highly recommended for those seeking to turn the tide in the bath time battle! It's worth it!

If your kitty loves water, like mine does, this is a MUST. I've bought 9 pairs of these so far. (18 fish!) My cats request them *daily*. Sometimes they don't let me put them away. The fish have engaging movements with multiple swim styles. Put them in a bowl of water and watch them go! They even dive! They'll go into sleep mode after 5 min, they're not designed to stay in the water constantly. To wake them up, pull them out for a few seconds and drop them back in. Remember to pull them out when you're done to extend their life. When their swimming slows down, it's time for new batteries. Considering how often these are used in my house, the batteries last a very long time. I separate fish as they start to slow, then replace a bunch at once. You'll be a tiny Phillips screwdriver. I've had the oldest about 4 mos. After daily use, 2 have finally gotten water damage/corroded and another has simply died. They had a hard, but loved life and were ready to retire. I expect most homes will get much longer longevity.

My kids love these, I just wish I did too. We have used them in the bath every night for a month, and to be fair 4 of the 5 are still functioning. So, 5 stars for fun, 1 star for the parent/maintenance experience. Following are the flaws that, if fixed, would have resulted in a 5 star review. Let me start with the battery and battery compartment issues. There is a small manyfacturing defect that has impacted all 5 of our units, where a bit of excess plastic protrudes out and makes the rubber seal fail (location of the excess plastic is pointed to with a screwdriver bit in picture 1). This has caused 3 of the units, with the original batteries installed, to allow water into the battery compartment and caused the batteries to rust. One of them had so much water it shorted a battery, but that unit did survive. Scraping off that little bit of plastic with a finger nail fixes the issue, and since doing that we have had no further issues with water getting in the battery compartment. Now, you might think that I would turn around and say that they should just make sure there was no excess plastic where the seal meets the body. However, I think removing the compartment altogether and shipping these with a rechargeable battery would also fix my second gripe: These fish chew through batteries. As mentioned, we have used these a lot and have already gone through 40 batteries in about a month with 4 fish. A rechargeable battery with a little charge 'pad' would have fixed 2 issues and I personally would have paid more for that feature. Finally, the last issue, and why we are running 4 fish instead of all 5 we have purchased. On the back on one of the units, water has gotten through the rubber gasket leading to the fin. Water droplets are visible right next to the controller which is the likely cause to it failing outright (picture 2). I don't fault the design on this one, we just got a lemon that will be returned/refunded. It's a bummer, but manufacturing issues happen. So, to the manufacturer: Make a version 2 with rechargeable batteries and we will try them out.

My nephews love these fishies. When I tried it in the water for the first time, I myself was delighted.

To bad one fish did not work, does not swim

Igual que en las fotos de compra. Son muy chulos

Mein Kind liebt die Fische! Selbst nach einem versehentlichen Waschgang in der Waschmaschine funktioniert der Fisch immer noch wie am ersten Tag.
