Protect your hair from chlorine and chemicals
I apply this product to my hair along the hairline before putting on a silicone bathing suit swim cap. NO swim cap keeps all of the chlorinated water from reaching my hair, but this product has made a BIG difference by protecting my hair from harsh chemicals. I swim a mile in 50 minutes several times a week, and since I began using this product, I can see a significant difference in the dryness and frizziness of my hair. Glad that I found this product. Highly recommend it!

Let's start with...
Let's start with......the scent. This matches the scent of the AquaGuard after swim conditioner, though to me, the shampoo has a couple extra scent notes that I don't get from the conditioner. After a 70 minute lap swim workout in a public, highly chlorinated pool, as I squeeze this into my hands, I get grapefruit, vanilla and baby powder; in that order. The conditioner, nose up to the bottle, I get baby powder, but in my hair, grapefruit; (no vanilla, no baby powder). The shampoo...Shampoo companies love me because I "wash, rinse, repeat" and so it is with this.Just a dime size dollop or less for my short hair (each time) creates a satisfying lather; by the way, as you rinse your hair, let the lather fall into your suit; it needs some anti chlorine lovin' too. This, followed by the conditioner leaves my short, somewhat thick hair in nice condition. At this stage, there is no chlorine smell. It is immediately followed by one of the many fixative products that I get to order and review. The true test, for me, is really the next day, the next shower; while I may not smell chlorine the day of, after using this, it's that next shower that I either smell chlorine or I don't.So far my experience with this has been good in that it has passed the next day, next shower test. This, like the conditioner from this brand comes in what I would call, an in between size bottle.Just a little too big for me to lug along to the pool especially if I'm using both the shampoo and conditioner. If using in a gym type context, you will likely want to have those small refillable silicone bottles and fill those and bring those with you.Like the conditioner, nice product, glad l ordered.I hope this review has enabled you to make an informed purchase decision.I rarely give an overall 5 star rating.

Great for everyday pool
I have white hair that gets very dry in the summer. I am in the pool everyday. I hate the smell of chlorine so I wash my hair. This product smells great and my hair feels great. Soft and shiny. Gentle on my hair.

Pump doesn’t work
Pump didn’t work; had to pour shampoo into hand every time which kind of defeats the purpose of having a product with a pump…..

This shampoo works great in getting the chlorine put
The media could not be loaded. I was pretty hesitant about this shampoo it I didn't figure there would be any shampoo that could get out the chlorine from my daughter's hair after swim lessons better than any others. She would always have about the last 3rd of per head of hair that just felt kind of different especially when wet after swim lessons from the chlorine despite how much shampoo and conditioner I put in it. I figured it was worth giving this a go to see if we could get rid of it. And to my surprise it absolutely worked even just the 1st time using it! I regret not getting the conditioner to go with it but even just with the shampoo, it's worked great! It also has a very pleasant but very gentle scent. Not strong at all which is a plus for me.I also like that they are reef safe, cruelty free with no parabens, phthalates or dies.My only complaint is that it came with both screw on cap and also a screw on push pump top. I wish that would have been an option to just one or the other. We usually transfer our shampoos into smaller containers so they fit in our swim bag. I would have love to opt out of wasting the extra plastic to make the pump if that would have been option. The containers are a bit small than I thought but it comes with two. So you get 19 oz total in two easily packable bottles. The shampoo is thick (see video) so a little does go a long way.I hope they make that an option in the future. But the product works well.

Eliminates the chlorine smell
Review for: AquaGuard After-Swim Shampoo - Refreshes Hair After Swimming, Alleviates Pool Smell - Paraben and GluteThis shampoo definitely eliminates the chlorine smell. It feels a bit different than your average shampoo and I usually require two lathers to get a decent amount of lather. I do have to use a conditioner after shampoo and that makes it easier to comb out my hair as well as puts a bit of moisture back into what would be dried out hair.

Gets rid of chlorine smell
My daughter is a swimmer, has been most of her life, so has tried many different shampoos to counteract the effect of chlorine on her hair. She is happy with this one. When she is swimming for training or for exercise, she wears a swim cap, so her hair doesn’t get as wet, and therefore as affected by the chlorine, as happens without a cap. Still, her hair gets wet and smells like chlorine. This shampoo took care of the chlorine smell and left behind a fresh scent. It lathered well and, combined with the conditioner, left her hair soft and easy to comb. She has thick hair. Those with thin and/or fragile hair may not have the same results.Just one complaint from a swimmer who travels to and from the pool with shampoo and conditioner in her swim bag…the pumps. It’s difficult to transport bottles with pumps, so she didn’t use them. Instead, she just tried to squeeze the products out of the bottles. The plastic used on the bottles is pretty thick, so squeezing them to dispense the shampoo and conditioner isn’t easy. Not a huge issue, but for swimmers who shower at the pool and have to carry their own hair products, bottles with pumps are not ideal.

NOT Gluten Free
When I ordered this I looked for the ingredients list, but didn’t find it. I took a chance and ordered anyway because I like the Pre-Swim and I don’t react to it. This has wheat protein and malt, which makes it unsafe for me.
