Can it charge MacBook Pro?

Short answer is No. This is a USB 2.0 version of the USB-C cable which is fine for charging things up to 15W (such as phones). For a Mac Book, you will need a USB 3.1 USB-C cable (which may also be labeled as a Thunderbold 3 cable if it's an Apple product) which is capable of delivering a much higher amount of power. USB 3.1 cables specifically have a chip in them that allows the device to operate at higher speeds and power loads (and typically cost a little more). Depending on the which MacBook you have, it's going to need a cable that can handle either 61W (13-Inch MacBook) or 87W (15-Inch MacBook). Look for cables that specifically state they support the power rating you need or higher, or- if it's a USB 3.1 cable- has a voltage and amperage number that can be multiplied to the wattage you need (5V x 3A = 15W for instance).

Does this work for fast charging Pixel 2?

It's not a good idea - Pixel 2's charger is USB PD 18W and this cable is only rated for 15W (5V @ 3A). Using a cable under-rated for the charger risks damaging the phone - I'm returning mine.

Good product.

USB C PD

Not necessarily the best choice for USB C Power Delivery. Unfortunately, the charging power is quite limited and it doesn't really match the PD charger Amazon also sells under the Basics brand.I thought that they may be a match, but they really aren't. Which means, a chunk of the power budget remains unused. It seems durable enough to last at least as the average phone charging cable, but if you're aiming for maximum power, look elsewhere.

Basically Ideal

Don't let the "Basics" mislead you, this is a well-made item. I'm only using this as a charging lead, so I can't speak for its data-transfer capabilities, but it is ideal for my purposes. I selected 1.8m because it's just the right length for a travel lead in my opinion. Too long and it takes up too much room in my bag, and could be a tripping hazard in use. Too short and you have to leave your phone on the floor, which is hardly ideal.I'm REALLY glad this isn't one of those nylon-braided cables, because they're so inflexible and don't coil up very well for carrying around, plus the plugs either end tend to be a weak point and snap off the cable too easily. I hate having to wade through pages and pages of the nylon-braided types to find what I'm looking for, but it's well worth the effort in the end.
