Unemployable: The Odyssey of an Artist

This book arrived this past Friday night, & I binge read it & just finished reading it today on Sunday! Elli tells her Artists Journey with such passion & honesty. She expresses her passion for her family, her Greek heritage, her Art, & her Faith, her love of horses. She doesn’t skip over the difficult parts of her journey, & her struggles, but instead she described them in great detail, being transparent & vulnerable which makes her very honest & relatable. I laughed, & definitely did cry. She is an inspiration to all, and I am so thankful she followed Gods will for her, and started her art school, & I am excited to be a part of it, & learn from her and her daughter as I just enrolled in the Mastery Program. Just a few of my Favorite Lines that Really hit home for me- “Artists are the most courageous people on earth, as they splay their hearts out for all to judge, and risk it all for the sake of Beauty.” “Our Home lies within us.” “I was born for this. This is my destiny.” Such an inspirational autobiography.

Very interesting and great details!I have only met one Greek person before and his personality was Big! Sounds like tge author is spot on about Greeks!Great read about her life!

I’m only on chapter 4 at this point, but I wanted to go ahead and leave a review. I anticipate the rest of the book will be as moving and inspiring as the first four chapters have been. Elli is a visual writer. When I read her stories, I feel like I am actually taken to the place that she is describing, and enabling me to understand her heartfelt renditions of her experiences I highly recommend this book as it is very heartwarming to read.

Ellie Milan has written a wonderful book based on her life experience as an artist who is actually working and making a living as an artist, not a part-time, but a full-time vocation. She has a lot of practical insight and a very interesting Personal story along her journey. I find it very inspirational, especially since I went to art school and was told that you can’t make a living as a fine artist to be a graphic designer. That was back in the late 80s early 90s. The Milan’s prove that you can actually make a living as an artist. All you need is to work, if you truly want to be successful, you must be dedicated and I believe Ellie Milan proves that point. I’d recommend this book to any aspiring artist; middle range artist or a season pro I think there’s something to learn from this book for everyone. I’m enjoying it and definitely going to give it to my other artist niece when I’m done reading it .

I truly enjoyed the book. The details of her life struggles were so vivid, I felt as if I was there with her. I feel that, through her words, I've seen the beauty of Greece. Really a good book. I loved it, Ellie.

Finally! A book that gets better and better as the story develops. Ellie Milan, who has lived life on the edge, is an insightful and entertaining writer. Unemployable is for all artists-but actually for all humans seeking to live boldly and touch the stars with no fear. She doesn't hold back as all. You too may be transformed as I have been!!!

The title of the book grabbed my attention and then the first lines completely captivated me. I read Elli’s first book and loved it. This one is on a whole new level. Her courage, her passion, and her drive are electrifying. This books takes the reader on a intimate journey with Elli and it deeply connects us to her heart and her spirit. It’s a page turner that you definitely will not want to miss! Not only will this book connect you more intimately with the talented Elli Milan, I believe, it will help you find your own unique creative parts within that may have been silenced or suppressed. Elli has a passion that burns so deeply and so brightly it ignites the inner flame of the reader. You will definitely want to seek to know more about Elli and her talented family. In fact, I highly recommend taking some art lessons from her and her family members. I have and I have learned more in a few sessions than I have learned over 10 years of independent studies. The Milan Institute covers every aspect of art and they share invaluable art tools and skills that you won’t find anywhere else. And best of all they teach you how to build your own an Art business. I made the mistake of just opening the book at a random place to see what I thought and it was so good I had to make myself stop and go back to the front of the book. This is a beautiful story and it’s true! It’s a real story written by an artist who actually experienced these things. She had a dream and didn’t give up even though she experienced serious struggles with staying her path as as artist, some surprising (to me) rejection from her ancestoral Greece and has children to care for with struggles and expectations as a mother and wife. This woman experienced loss and triumph, success and failure but manages to come out on top and overcome resistance. Elli Milan has a heart on fire for both her family and art and even with setbacks she kept her dream alive and accomplished her goals. She is stronger than ever. Read this book! If you’re an artist or know an artist or just want to know the possibility of being an artist through adversity then read this book! It’s uplifting and you’ll find yourself cheering on the artist and.

I'm a huge fan of Elli Milan and the Milan Art Institute. I'm a student of their Mastery Program and I was so excited to hear about the book release, I knew it would be great, and it did not disappoint. It's inspiring, powerful and enjoyable. I'm still reading it but I wanted to share my opinion so far.Elli is genuine, funny and has a lot of valuable experience to share.The book gives an incredible insight to the challenges faced by artists and what it takes to become a professional artist.I loved reading about her experiences in Greece and learning more about the culture and heritage of Greece.Definitely recommend!

Super inspiring book . She never fails to touch a cord with the creatives and talks about how to embrace your destiny unapologeticically and work hard to live your life . I love how she talks about living your dreams and believing in yourself . Love how she makes you believe that believing in your trueself is the first step to conquer your dreams . Loved it !!
