Can i load nds games to it? or just gba to play on nds?

It can only play gba games, however it can be used in any console that supports gba games.

What kind of memory card should I use for this and how do I get gba games downloaded to the card?

Supports SDHC I use a 32gb SanDisk micro SD and you just need to copy the roms from your PC to the SD card, no patching required, you can put them in folders for organization, and you can store 4 16mb games or a combination of games totalling 64 mb on the permanent memory (NOR FLASH) for quick playing or you can load the ROM in SRAM for temporary playing. Games save to the SD card automatically with a .sav format when you save in game.

does it have ds gaames?

No you just put your own roms on it, also this is not for ds games this is to run GBA games on the ds

Does it work with the Hyperkin RetroN Sq?

Yes, and the GameCube gba player peripheral as well. If it has a gba cartridge slot, it’ll work :)
