Is it just the front or it comes with the box as well?

It does come with the box. Quite difficult to fit because of the size of the cables. Not much room in the box.

Is a cooker control switch the same as one needed for a shower?

Hi, this clearly states its for a cooker. Best to search for shower power switch on Amazon, it brings up lots of options.

Could this be used as a light switch and socket in a garage? Thinking of ways to minimise sockets and cables etc.

I suppose so, but it seems a waste of money to pay for 45a unit just for a light. Why not put in a couple of ordinary switches and a light switch. I'm of the opinion you can't have too many sockets (within reason). To get rid of all the trailing cables around my computer, printer and NAS drive I put in six sockets, all neat and tidy.
