BerkleyPowerBait MaxScent The General Fishing Soft Bait

As the weather has turned colder and colder with moderate drought conditions, successfully catching largemouth in the Washington Maryland suburbs has prompted me to try different baits to regain an edge trying to catch pressured fish. I decided to try using the 2.75" litl general and 4" and 5" Poerbait MaxScent baits. I use Senkos, BP Stickos, and YumDingers all the time. I prefer the Senkos but the soft plastic they use imparts more action at the expense of durability. At over $1 each I was concerned with burning through a couple packs of MaxScent. They work. After I caught five bass in the 2.5 to 3.5 lb range, my friends switch to ned rigs too. They used their own soft plastics. While they boat two fish, I boated four more. Nine fish to the boat and the lure still looked good. I used more in the pack because I gave them to my buddies to use. I switched to the 4" stick and was fishing wackey with no hits for 15 minutes. Rigged the same bait with a Charlie Brewer's spider head rugged Texposed and caught two more but then switched back to the ned rig. Caught a couple more nice fish in 15 minutes. Wind came up and we were looking light and decided to pull out. Used the same Ned rig to catch about 5 - 6 fish four days later before a huge bluegill tore it up enough that I decided to replace it. They baits catch fish. They follow the scent trail, if the decide to sample, they hold on longer, and the baits hold up. I was catching larger fish than my buddies and numbers wise, out catching them 4 to 1 conservatively.

Maxscent is one the best fish catching soft plastics. I like them all

Product is a fish catcher but they are soft and only lasts for one or 2 fish.

Only carry purple bags in my tackle bag only wah to catch this fish in very pressure waters

After 2 small bass I had to replace the worm. These are not very durable. Yes they catch fish set up with a Texas or Carolina rig but after 2 fish you'll be lucky if they don't fly off on your next cast. I can fish with a zman bait for 10x more catches, dont know why Berkley is so fragile in comparison
