I wanted something to carry out with me when the nights draw in when I'm walking my German Shepherd .. with him, I don't really need to worry too much about self-defence as he is a fully trained protection dog .. but I'd rather be safe than sorry.I used to carry an apple root knob stick but I think it was fairly obvious why I was carrying it, I certainly don't need a stick to walk with.This umbrella is perfect .. you can feel the strength in it and although I hope never to have to use it, I know that if I did it would be every bit as strong as my applewood shillelagh .. and as an added bonus, if it starts to rain, I don't get wet.Do note the warnings about the fakes out there, make sure you get in from the ONLY two suppliers listed here on Amazon for this item.
