ProcareSelect Disc Cleaning and Repairing Kit PRO

This resurfaced and repaired a disc I bought at a thrift store. I bought a disc for $2 I had almost no hope of working due to the amount of scratches some of which were rather deep. The scratching on the surface of this disc I would put at a 6/10 for severity, you would need concerted effort in order to really scratch it more. However after running the Buff and Repair cycle twice and the clean cycle once it's made my copy of A Knights Tale read flawlessly. Following the instructions is very easy. This device functions very well so far but it's still early days. It cleans the surface of the disc very well. The device is somewhat noisy but that's to be expected. I was hesitant based on how cheap the device is and some other the reviews but I am very much impressed with the product so far.

It does actually work... Provided it is used properly. I tried to use it the same way my old memorex worked, and it didn't at all. That is, I attempted to skip the red wheels first and go straight to the yellow repair set. The red wheels actually buff out the imperfections, and the yellow would appear to seal it or fine polish at the least. I used this product on a DVD from the library that was clearly well abused and unable to load in a stand alone and a PC DVD drive. after using this machine, it was completely readable in all devices I attempted it in!

The directions say to repeat steps 1 and 2 but repeating step 1 too many times will damage your disc and destroy it. What works best is doing 4-5 rounds of step 2, then 4-5 rounds of step 3. It fixed my old Sims 2 game disc, and it's making my Simpsons hit and run game more readable. Not quite fixed yet. It works great at getting the majority of the disc but it doesn't fix the innermost ring, which is a bummer, I think that's the only flaw of this disc repair system.

Normally I'm not big on giving reviews. But I need to make an exception in this case. I had a Series CD from MASH, which would play save one episode. I noticed a minor scratch on the surface, not very deep, that I felt may have been the problem. The rest of the DVD worked fine.I searched the internet for a repair and this one came to the top, plus it was on Amazon. I ordered it and when I received it I read the instructions, which were not very in depth. I followed them and saw that there were many circles on the disk. The instructions said this would happen and not to worry. When I attempted to play my DVD, the DVD player would not recognize the entire disk. It could not be read. I even tried placing the DVD in my PC, with the same result.I wrote to the person listed under amazon and he stated I needed to follow the instructions. When I replied I followed them to the letter he wrote back to clean the heads of the DVD player. After doing that the same result.Now I am now having to buy the entire 8th season again to have a fully working set of DVDs. I would not recommend using, or purchasing, this product if you hope to keep you DVD or CD working.

Performance is not great. It's ok. Does not work on deep scratches on cd's.

The head cleaner and disc cleaner work great on my 400 CD changer! Great product and price. I would recommend to my friends and anyone needing to clean CDs or disc player.

This little device is probably the best investment I've made, works like a charm and as long as you follow the steps, it'll make games playable and like new, tried on about 25 ps3 and Xbox 360 games.

I purchased this to repair scratched second hand DVDs. Works very well as long as you're realistic. Some DVDs are simply beyond repair and no product on the market will bring them back, but I have successfully used this to restore some pretty scratched DVDs to a playable state. You may have to repeat multiple cycles of the "repair" and "clean" cycles but ultimately this is a great product for repairing DVDs that aren't beyond saving. Note that the set of pads is only rated for up to 50 "cycles" so you may have to buy some of their refill kits if you plan to use this frequently.
