What is sizing like on these please?

I sized up .5 from my sons normal shoe size and they were perfect for him .

Is this a suede sole dance shoe?

The sole on the ball of your foot is suede whereas the sole on the heel is plastic

Are the sizes in men’s sizes? I see on the chart 8 is EU42, which is men’s uk 8?

I don't know. I bought these for my Granddaughters. (one child's size and one adult) Bought the next size up.

Are these slip on with elastic stretchy laces or are the laces typical tie up? My lo is 5yo and still learning laces...

It's laces so will need to tie. Plus they are not that stretchy normal shoe size did not fit my son so I would suggest one or 2 sizes up as he could not get his foot in. These are expensive for what you get.
