Easy to use, makes a hard job enjoyable!
Made short work of my stubborn garden wooden door, which would warp during the wet weather and not be able to open. A few glides using this baby and the problem is gone! Couldn’t imagine doing this job with a manual hand tool! The time/effort saved more than makes this product worth its weight in gold! It was harder work painting the door afterwards!

This quality machine powers through a tree stump I was planning with ease just needed some form of collecting bag as it blasts wood shavings everywhere. A strong item and easy to use

Electric wood planer
Recently I've had several really big jobs at home that I've done myself to keep the cost down. The last job involved an awful lot of wood planing and I was not getting anywhere quickly with my old hand planers. So my wife and I talked about it and decided to get an electric wood planer.I decided on the Bosch because you can easily buy spare parts and accessories. Also they make good quality tools.I started out cautiously as others suggested just to get a feel for how deep it cuts on the lowest setting and then moved to deeper cut settings. It reduced my work time dramatically although it still took a whole day to do the job as there was so much to do.So I have to say it was worth spending a bit more to get a better quality item. The only caveat is that I have to agree with other that Bosch should have included a collection bag for wood shavings. I was knee deep in the stuff but I'll let that go and still give the wood planer 5 stars.

Brilliant!
Me and wood just don't go together and I never cut a piece of wood straight. I needed to shave about 5mm off my new living room door. No way was I going to plane that off by hand, so bought this. Easy to use and did the job so quickly and neatly too. Saved a lot of hard work and I would recommend this tool.

Shaving me a lot of work!
Bought this for fitting 11 new internal doors. I contemplated using my old faithful Stanley plane but I’m getting a bit old for all that elbow action! This was definitely one of my best decisions as the planer made short work of the project and enabled a high level of accuracy. Another good decision was to purchase the 0.8m Bosch hose for connection to my dust extraction cylinder cleaner. Without that, the clean up would have taken eons. The manual wood plane still has its place but generally the way forward for me is the Bosch planer.
