Does this have a strong odor?

Mine has a very strong odor. It smelled like manure and death (yes, I'm aware that it's real leather and thus is actually a dead animal). It was so awf that our entire living room stank of it and it's been outside for several days and still has an odor

Is this stool much darker than in the listing picture? I ask because two reviewers posted pictures and it looks much darker than the cushion listed.
