American Garden Works OST Obelisk with Spiral Twist Finial, 54" x 10.5", Matte Black

For the last couple of months I've been searching for a support for a dipladenia that I overwintered from last year and chose this one from the hundreds I considered. I was a bit apprehensive because of the poor quality of the picture and a relative lack of information, however I am so glad that I took a chance. The obelisk is very attractive, well made, sturdy and just the right size for what I wanted. It fits perfectly in my12" pot, the twist on the finial adds a touch of sophistication and my dipladenia looks beautiful climbing the support.The obelisk is a great buy; no assembly was required, it's beautiful and it adds a nice vertical accent to my patio. I plan to buy the taller obelisk of the same design and wish this company offered other garden items of the same quality and value. From reading reviews of other garden structures of various kinds on Amazon and other sites I get the impression that quality is a rare attribute of most garden towers.

Love the piece once I received it. Very good quality. Considering it was supposedly in stock, it took a very long time to arrive — several weeks! Wish it had arrived more quickly.

This American Garden Works 54" obelisk with the spiral twist top is made solid with the 0.325" diameter metal rod it claims to be. No assembly needed and all the joints are tightly welded, though I did notice one weld that still had a small bit of weld rod sticking out. The black powder coating is smooth and consistent all around and covers the entire unit, so it should last a good long time rust free. It's currently holding tomato plants that grew over its top; no problem.Now, the packing and shipping by Amazon could have been much better. I received it with the finial poking through the top of the box (photo) resulting in a scratch in the black finish. I did not want to go through the hassle of a return, so sprayed some black Rustoleum I had on hand and it was ready to go.

I'm a backyard gardener in Florida who loves to make improvements each year. The day I found this item on Amazon was the beginning of a professional image for my yard. First I ordered some for my rosebushes, then some for sunflowers, then for others, and finally for Vinca major (Periwinkle) which is very strong with heavy sprawling crawlers. I think I've bought 12 from this company and I'm going to buy some more too. The ad photos don't do justice. These are sturdy, heavy gauge structures that DO NOT RUST like the ones I purchased first. They arrive assembled, unlike other more expensive varieties.

The finish is a gloss black rather than matte. It is not packaged well at all and a miracle it arrived without damage. The finial at the top is slightly off instead of straight. That said -I’m keeping. It is sturdy and well made other than the crooked top. Well priced compared to what’s out there.

I like that it’s a heavier gauge steel, welded together. Should last a long time and the little spiral finial on top looks nice. Just wish they had a taller version! I planted an English rose next to mine and plan on wrapping the canes around it. I imagine it would also be good for clematis or any other showy plant that needs staking.

So many trellises are absolute junk these days but these are very solid and high quality. I only wish they had something like this but taller! I have used these all over my vegetable garden and now I have a total of 6! I can’t tell the difference between the ones I purchased years ago and the one I just purchased- they have held up extremely well. Very well priced for the quality!

This item arrived today and I placed it over a clematis that I had just planted. It's perfect! I am back to purchase another one to put beside it. This product is a great value. It's very sturdy and there is no assembly required!
