This is going to be a Christmas bestseller!
My grand-daughter is just 4, and she loves all things soft and cuddly. So this seemed a perfect gift for her birthday.Firstly, I love the idea that this unboxes itself. It is in two boxes - you or your child removes the first box by pulling at the cardboard zips, which reveals another box. The full removal process is clearly explained in simple instructions, but to be honest you could work this out yourself. The second box is where the puppy lies in wait for your child to pull the gift tag on the top of the box. It then starts to unbox itself (I do wish I had videoed this bit for you, it's fun to watch!). The box rocks, the puppy tears holes in the box from the inside and starts barking - my grand-daughter was squealing with joy and excitement at this point. The side starts to rip, and then the front of the box drops down, and the puppy starts to sing a happy little song as it is finally free - and you get to see which puppy you have.Ours was Princess, and for my grand-daughter it was love at first glance. The puppy is very cute, with big eyes, floppy ears, and soft fur.To remove from the box, just slide the plastic pieces at the front of the feet to the side - and your puppy is free, and ready to play! You just switch her on at the bottom of her foot. The toy comes with batteries included, so you don't have to mess around with finding batteries and putting them in before the play starts. So what does it do? Makes over 100 different sounds and actions. There are many different modes. The first one you'll find is the Cuddle Mode. Give your new puppy a hug and she will make some kissy noises, wag her tail in excitement and shuffle her paws. Tickle her tummy and she barks with excitement and wriggles her legs. Bark back mode is when she copies your barking. In trick mode she sings a song and makes animal noises, which is highly amusing. In games mode she sets you challenges, which you have to copy, and she gets so excited when you get it right! In nomal mode she barks, walks around and snores when she's sleeping. If you don't respond or play with her for a while, she has a hibernation mode and will switch off to save battery life.It takes 6 AA batteries, 3 in each foot, so although it comes with batteries you might want to get more as this is going to be played with a lot as your child explores all the different modes, and spends a lot of time interacting with their new pet. This toy is a lot of fun, and the unboxing is innovative and just adds to the excitement. This is going to be a real hit at Christmas.I hope you found my review helpful.

The CAT barks!!
Well....my daughter wanted this for Christmas and she asked for the CAT one!! Yep no problem got it opened it today Christmas morning and it starts barking!! WTF she hasn’t blinked an eye that the ‘CAT’ that she wanted is barking!! In my head I’m thinking the bloody thing is faulty and I’m not happy because I’ve got to mess around to sort it! So come on to look and a) it’s £11 cheaper and b) apparently it’s not a chuffing ‘CAT’ it’s a Puppy! Anyway daughters happy with her barking ‘CAT’ and I’ve spent the day really confused!! Merry Christmas!

Single use plastic gone mad!
Okay it was clever the way my granddaughter's new pet unpackaged itself but for two minutes entertainment, will future generations thank us for this much single-use plastic waste? It was more shocking than having the pet fight its way out of the box. Three stars only because she was super delighted with the thing!

Puppy does not present itself to you as told
This doesn't open itself, very disappointed as my daughter was so excited to see this. Followed the instructions. Pulled the tag, box shook, it made noises, the end. All the plastic is such a waste too. At least she has the pet so can't return but overall dissatisfied with how described and what actually happened.

Did not unbox itself sadly
Bought for my 4 yr olds birthday however it sadly did not unhbox itsself as it stated. I had researched this item before spending the £54 on it and pre ordered as I knew my daughter would love the way it made a grand entrance. We followed the instructions and it started yapping and breaking through the box (she was super excited) it then however stopped moving or doing anything, we waited a good 10minuets and it stopped making any noise or making an attempt to break free.We ended up letting her rip the rest of the box open herself and it appeared to my husband that we had recieved a faulty puppa. Never the less once we got it free from the box she adores it and has played with it non stop for the last few hours. I will say one thing about the dog.. it is loud! Being a mother of 5 we have pretty much had every toy going but this one gave me a headache its so loud.So in conclusion. its ok not worth the price tag in my opinion but my daighter loves it and I suppose thats all that matters. I would of prefered it unboxed itself like it was supposed to hence the 3 stars. I will be buying another as my 6 year old also loves it but hoping for a cheaper price.

Unacceptable Delievery
Not happy that it was not in a box for Delievery as it was my granddaughter’s Xmas present now she knows what she has totally unacceptable.

Adorable pet in box.
Bought this for my granddaughter so was not there for the complicated opening. My daughter in law sent me a video of granddaughter opening and although they pulled the correct tab, it seemed to start opening ,the box stopped shaking and they gave up and took it out manually. I think one pays for this perforamce in the purchase price and gathered from reviews it did not open properly for a few customers. Apart from that i think they found the pet entertaining for the kids.
