Can use the usb port to play music?

There are 2 USB ports: the smaller port is an input for charging the battery in the speaker. The other port is for charging an external device such as a smart phone. In between the 2 ports is a 3mm auxiliary input for connecting the speaker with a cable directly to your smartphone or MP3 player or portable CD player. I doubt that either USB port can be used as a way to input music into the speaker, but I don’t know for sure.

Can you change tracks from the speaker's buttons?

In the newest version with the USB-C and TWS button (shipping as of November 2020) you can push the play button 3 times to go back to prior track

Is it better than the 20w premium anker speaker? louder?

Yes, this one is better in my opinion. The 20W Premium I had for about a year and it is still better than most speakers. The Boost however, has more features that the 20W doesn't offer (dust and water resistance, charge out port, etc.). You can't go wrong with either one but the Boost is louder and has better bass with the BassUp feature activated.

For by the pool.. need volume and quality of sound. go with boost or sport xl? need fast answer before prime day

My Sport XL works great out at the pool. Also you know, it's water resistant.
