It is 60ml however the bottle does not say so on the label. I know this from using it myself and looking it up on the manufacturers website.

Is this water based? Can it be thinned with water? Does it need more than soap and water for cleanup?

Yes, this is an acrylic matte varnish. I've used it with acrylic cleaners as well as just water to clean it up. Be advised this is about as flat a finish as can be. It's as if all moisture was sapped out of the final color!

How do you thin this varnish to use with an airbrush?

I use isopropyl alcohol to dilute it. You can use distilled water . The distilled water prevents water stains.

Why is 1 bottle $12.50 and then if you get 2 bottles it's suddenly $81? and if you get 3 bottles suddenly it's $113 and 4 is $143? Mistake?

I can’t answer for the price, but I would go with liquitex ultra matte. The 8oz bottle is concentrated and should last you for years. It costs a few bucks more than a single bottle of the AK stuff, and it’s just as good. Mix with distilled water to thin it out.
