Kind of meh
Out of the box, the blade isn't very sharp, and the plate leaves scratches and gouging on the surface it slides against. I'm thinking of putting an acrylic plate on the bottom to clean up the slide. It's a cheap tool, so if you are looking for a bargain it's ok, but I wouldn't use it as is for very fine detailed projects.

Decent Hand Tool
Don’t change the angle when you sharpen the cutter like I did. After I adjusted it back it worked well.

Better save your money.
Will these get the job done? Sure. Will it take a long time to get them in the state that it works properly? Definitely.I have been waiting to purchase a router plane for a while now. I purchased this one because it popped up on sale and it had some decent reviews. Well, it arrived and was promptly sent back. The plane looked okay from a distance but looking closer I found too many flaws. The blade was chipped pretty bad and would take a long time to correct. A replacement blade could be bought but I didn't want to have to purchase something else for a brand new item. The main issue was that the blade was seated in the plane body at an angle and there was no way I was going to try to modify it to be true. For that reason I sent it back.I was bummed that it didn't work out but it just reminds me that you get what you pay for.I will just save up for a higher end router plane. Hope this review helps others.

Cutter not square to base
Useless tool that is not square. Can’t be used to clean bottom of dados.

easy setup
placing the device on my diamond sharpening stones I found it very easy to level, square, sharpen the entire bottom of the device including the blade which was not square with the bottom. This is no more than what you would have to do with many of the brand new planes.

Move along my friend...
I see you eyeballing this, here or on Vevor's site. A real bargain right? And brand new, not like all those crusty Stanley's on ebay where you're not sure what you're getting.Well, I'll tell you what you're getting with this.A product from someone who doesn't understand router planes.Let's go through it.For setting it up: You have to slowly unscrew the elevation nut all the way to pull this out and sharpen it. Any woodworker knows that sharpening needs to not be any more of a chore than it already is because sharp tools are what we need at all times. The blade itself comes out of parallel with the base and dull as a bowling ball. It won't actually take long to sharpen it because the blade itself is not very hard at all. Unfortunately this mean you'll be sharpening again before long and slowly disassembling and reassembling the unit.Once you get the blade sharp and put it in to what should be labeled a SMALL router plane, you'll find that it can be very difficult to work with. The cheap plastic handles are as rollers on pins as opposed to being solidly anchored to the base. As a result, it is easy for the unit to turn under pressure and skew away from your cut. That the unit is made from plastic and cheap steel does lend to its lightness but to a degree where, in my opinion, it is not beneficial. Using a better made router plane, a woodworker would find a little more heft helps in creating a small amount of inertia which benefits in getting the job done with less muscle. If you're thinking that you can sharpen this up and make do for now, I'd advise you to skip it. Spend some money on a used Stanley and watch Paul Seller to find out how to set it up. Or buy new with Veritas or the new Katz-Moses unit.It will cost more but you'll have a real tool that will work and will last. You will not find yourself wanting to use this in the interim. You'll have wasted your money.
