The Uncanny X-Men Trading Cards: The Complete Series

Such nostalgia, so many extras!
I was 12 when this series came out. The art was so captivating and I remember saving up to buy a full box from my local comic shop. I would bring my binder with these (and the first 3 Marvel Universe Trading Cards series) everywhere and just look at the art and read the card backs. The book captures the cards in dynamic detail with great information about the set before getting to the pages for each card front/back. The book also comes with 4 bonus cards that re-create the famous Jim Lee X-Men Issue 1, and a card compiling the awesome "Danger Room" scene from the last 9 cards in the set. The book cover underneath the dust jacket is a recreation of the box art from the trading card series - and the final bonus - is the back of the dust jacket is a print of the Jim Lee X-Men promo poster that was sent to the comic shops to help market/sell the trading card packs. If there were more stars to give, I would.

Has it really been 30 years?! Here’s a book to commemorate Jim Lee’s work!
This is a treat! Especially for many of us Jim Lee X-Men fans of the early 90’s that grew up to his work! Publisher “Abrams ComicArts” put together this little collection of Jim’s X-Men series 1 trading cards in a handy dandy hardcover book! All 100 cards are featured in this beautifully produced book a presented as a “digest” style format (think of the old school TV Guide mags you got at your local grocery store) I’m familiar with Abrams style of books, they have a similar one with early garbage pail kids cards I picked up and I’m definitely gonna check out the Star Wars trading card series they have available!I still own the original cards of this series! The book is a wonderful compliment to Lee’s work and celebrates its 30th anniversary! 16 bucks is not a bad price!

90’s X-Men at its best!
This book was exactly what I was looking for and expecting. I have the actual card set and this book is a great companion that allows me to view the cards without getting the real ones out. It also includes some history on the art/cards. Bonus it comes with some actual cards too and the cover if removed and unfolded is a big X-men poster. It is a digest size so smaller than a regular book but it calls this out in the product description and in the listed dimensions so not sure why some are complaining about the size. Recommended for X-Men fans!

Good books with some flaws in execution.
This is purely an opinion piece so take it with a grain of salt but I will post some facts.1) I wish I had looked at the whole page to see the real dimensions of this book as I erroneously assumed that this would be a full-sized book and not a pocket-sized book, something that was shown further down the page.2) Continuing with the above I wish that this was a full-sized book to show off Jim Lee's amazing artwork better. Marvel released a comic version of their Masterpiece card art so this was the perfect opportunity to do the same in this hardcover form. Also, the cards have been recolored in recent years and used as comic book covers so the dimensions are visible. Also, it would have been nice if the book showcased the recolored arts.3) I was hoping the original card art would encompass the entire page. I see that they put commentary under the art but that could have been down on the back page that featured the card backs, you know, where the text was originally. On the positive side, I do like all the extras that are showcased throughout the book. The book cover is a mini poster done in the same style as the X-Men Vol 2 #1 deluxe edition. I also love how the hardcover is the alternate box art featuring Wolverine. I almost wish there was another version featuring Wolverine on the book cover and Magneto on the hardcover but again, that's just my wishful thinking..

Must-Have for classic X-Men and/or Jim Lee fans
I got this as a gift for my boyfriend who is a huge fan of Jim Lee’s art, and Marvel in general, but most especially X-Men. The cover of the book is actually a poster on the inside, which I didn’t even realize, and has alternate cover art on the book itself of Wolverine. We enjoy going through the book together where he points out his favorites to me, as he used to collect the cards the book is about, so all-in-all, this was a great buy, would definitely recommend.

Great for any 90s X-Men/Jim Lee fan!
Got this as a gift. Love it! I had most of these cards as a kid and never knew what happened to them. Great to see Jim’s art and the articles/blurbs are interesting. The inside of the jacket has a pretty cool 90s team poster and it comes with some cards. If you loved the X-Men from the 90s and had these cards you’ll love it!

A must have for Jim Lee X Men fans. 💯👍
Any Jim Lee X Men fans must have this. Its definitely a trip through memory lane for those who were lucky enough to live through this era of X Men greatness. So many perks to have this book for the price point: a card book, a dust cover with a poster on the reverse side, an introduction by a few well known creators and a few cards inserted inside. Already shelved with all my other X Men periphenallia. Please dont waste your time - you must get this!

Great Photographic Collection of the Cards
It's a book. It's got the pictures of the cards. It's what you expected if you looked at this listing. It's great for fans who missed out on the whole set in the 90s. We were missing a few cards back then, but glad to have a photographic collection here!
