Well Made; Large Enough Ports for my GM Diesel Engine
I have a 2000 Chevrolet 3500HD with the 6.5 Turbo Diesel engine. This engine uses a CDR--in effect a PCV valve and routes crankcase vapors up into the turbo inlet. Since the vapors are hot when they leave the engine, they tend to cool down enroute to the turbo and end up as oil in the lines and turbo itself. This is not a good thing.I looked for weeks to find a catch can that had a reasonable amount of capacity, and also large enough ports (3/4" preferably) that it wouldn't restrict the flow from the crankcase to the turbo, but still capture the oil. This unit fits the bill.It is the only one I found with 3/4" diameter ports. It's made out of aluminum, with a perforated plate that sits beneath one port opening inside the can. The plate can be changed from one side to another depending on your preference. I intend to put it beneath the outlet port so that any fluids trying to exit the can will hopefully hit the baffle and fall back into the can. I'll augment this process by putting a stainless steel scrub bud in the bottom of the can. (Clean it thoroughly first with soap and water, rinse well, and let dry before using).I've seen some other cans that have a dipstick to let you know when it was getting full, and a drain on the bottom to drain out the accumulated fluid without having to take the can apart. However, their port size was too small. So, since the bottom of this can is over 1/4" thick, I plan to drill and tap it for a drain valve.I'll also drill a hole in the top for a "dip stick" by drilling a hole slightly larger in diameter than the dipstick, then put an o-ring on the dip stick to help seal it off. I have a lathe so I can make my own dipstick, but a person could just use a flat headed 1/4" bolt of sufficient length (about 4") and push an o-ring up under the head of the bolt to help seal it.One other thing I'll do before I use it is to thoroughly clean it out with brake cleaner to make sure nothing is left from the manufacturing process. If you don't have any brake cleaner, just wash it with warm water and dish soap then let dry before using. The bracket for the unit is essentially worthless, hence the 4 stars for ease of installation, but there are a couple screws and several holes in the top that a person could use by making an "L" shaped piece of steel with holes matching a couple of the holes in the top to secure it.A MAJOR SUGGESTION TO THE MANUFACTURER:Eliminate the bracket as it isn't useful, but keep the screws. Modify the can by including a dipstick, and a drain valve in the bottom. All in all a good quality product that I'd highly recommend.

NOT as Advertised
I have no idea what size "BMW fitting" is. But one of the photos showed the fitting size to be "13.5mm" which is what I wanted. When I received the item the fittings measured 17mm. Informed the seller of this and they said they would send out the 13.5mm fittings but I had to wait for them from China. I think it was about two weeks and I received another set of 17mm fittings. Did not want to deal with anymore hunting for 13.5mm O-Ring Boss (ORB) fittings so I sent it back.Otherwise it looked like a quality part. Not a lightweight flimsy feeling tank. Very stout. Would have been happy to use it. Might not have been too happy to install it. With small arm on the back covered by the tank it looked like it would have been a pain to bolt onto something.

Incredible value for the $
I was going to pay 10x as much for one with 2 hoses to fit my truck and have to do it twice. Well, I decided to try this and plumb it myself.Let me tell you, this product is perfect, well designed, crafted and finished inside and out. It had one metal shaving on the dipstick but it was just hanging out so I pulled it off.Bottomline is that for the money you are getting VERY GOOD quality unit. Get some 8an female to 10an adapters and a 10an hose kit if you want to do it for a 2018 Ford F150 3.5l ecoboost. The 8an is too small to fit into the PCV connectors. It had to be 10an to fit the quick connect ends or onto pcv ends. Then use 10an finished clamps and done. A $500 unit for $140 for 2 hours of your time.

great looking product.
It has very good fit and finish, all threaded material was very nice as well but i will add as other have stated, it did smell like it just came out of a solvent tank and the hose they supply is garbage ! But over all, no complaints ! :)

Great quality for the price and as described
Great quality for the price and as described. Added a WIX 46969 emissions filter to remove oil vapors improve the coalescing of the oil catch process. Inlet/Outlet measures 3/4” OD as described. The machine work on the threads of the cup are not loose and the head and coalescing plates (2) of them are nice for a $25 part. There are several threaded locations on the head for different mounting options. The added WIX filter doesn’t affect the flow like it would appear to. This catch can is as good or better than $200 name brand baffled catch cans.I will write an upgrade once it’s been used for a few thousand miles.
