Nicest monopod I've ever seen
This is the nicest monopod I have ever used. I bought it to use with my Sony rx10 Mark 4. I also bought a Slik brand ball head adapter to put on top so that I can set my camera up for either portrait or specialty angles as necessary that you might not otherwise be able to accommodate. The lever locks are extremely convenient with a secure feeling cam action and a satisfying over center let-off in the locked position that lets you know they are securely clamped. Although they are plastic, they are beefy and seem like they will last a long time with care. This is sturdy enough even to use as a hiking staff. I have discovered a good technique for keeping the camera super steady when using extreme telephoto: you put the camera's strap around your neck and push the monopod with camera forward with your arms. When the straps pull tight against your neck it adds another level of stability to help you squeeze off the steadiest possible shot.I have discovered that I can carry my camera with monopod still attached by putting one arm and my head through the camera strap and having the camera and monopod hang underneath one of my arms. I also added a small loop of paracord to the monopod itself so that I can also carry just the monopod with the same method.

Sturdy Well Made Great Buy At This Price Point
This monopod was exactly what I was looking for and I think it is a great buy at this price point ($59.95). It is very sturdy, and is able to hold a lens-loaded Nikon D300s securely. It is well made: each of the extensions are strong, including the final extension; the strap attachment is held on by a metal rotating ring so cannot break off; and there is no bend or torque when the monopod is fully extended. It is not a shrinking violet: it is not heavy to the point of being a pain to lug around, but definitely not a diminutive piece of equipment. It adjusts quickly and easily. It would work well as a walking stick if needed, although it only has a very robust rubber tip, not a spike. The only improvement I could suggest is a carrying bag. However, given the type and bulk of camera and gear I'm using it with, I can just attach a carabiner to the strap and attach it to my gear bag.FYI I just received this monopod today, but immediately loaded it up and tried it out. It is much sturdier and better made than the ones I found in the brick and mortar stores (a pretty limited selection) for the same or greater price.

Excellent Monopod
I have a Sony A77 and as anyone knows that has a Sony these cameras are very heavy. When you add a lens like a Sigma 50-500 lens to it, it makes it even heavier! So I needed a strong and heavy-duty monopod. I have had this monopod for a couple of months now and I couldn't be more satisfied. It holds my Sony A77 and the 50-500mm lens tight and I have had no problems! The price is great also. I take many photos of wildlife and this was a much better choice for me because it is very mobile and I can adjust the leg to my height. I highly recommend this product to anyone that have any type of heavy lens or DSLR camera.

Heavy Duty Monopod
This is like having one leg of your heavy duty Slik 700D Pro Tripod, so if you are used to using one of these, buy this Monopod. I use this for Macro Photography, and it's very solid. I've used other Monopods with quick releases, and that always worried me that the camera will pop off the quick release. This twists on very tightly and securely.~PhotosByMeta

A good performer at a reasonable price
I have not used this Slik monopod extensively, but I really do like it. It's a big help in steadying your camera even though camera image stabilization is the norm these days. I use it when time and opportunity present themselves, most often when using flash at 1/60" in relatively bright ambient light - i.e. portraits. The flash duration is very fast, but the ambient light can muddy up the image if strong enough. The leg extension locks are very good and the price is reasonable. Highly recommended.

Always love Slik!
After taking delivery of a D700 & 70-200 f/2.8, I knew I was going to need some help carrying all that weight for hours a day. I've always loved my Slik tripod, so I naturally gravitated to a monopod from the same company, and I have not been disappointed. This monopod is strong, sturdy, very easy to take up and down, will compact enough to use while crouching or sitting, is tall enough to be used by someone 6'2" and probably more, and is very comfortable and light. Combined with the Slik ball head, it's perfect for a wide array of photographic tasks.

Slik has always made good products and this is no different
Slik has always made good products and this is no different. It's sturdy and great for taller people having an one of the longer extended lengths.Compacted length can fit in carry on luggage diagonally with a head installed and price is very good for a professional monopod.
