The connection box is not as thick as the frame,it does not protrude past it letting it lay flat on a surface.

Hello, this panel will work with mighty mule gate opener, and mighty mule gate opener do comes with a controller box which is solar panel compatible, but according to the instruction from mighty mule, "NEVER USE THE SOLAR PANEL AND THE AC TRANSFORMER AT THE SAME TIME! Of course it would light the lights and eventually drain the battery. The amount of time the lights will be on depends on the wattage and the size of the battery. You also have to get lights that run off of DC current.
