Great kit fantastic value
I had to replace my hydraulic brakes on my bike because the seals were blown, I Did not want the hassle of hydraulic systems again. I was honestly skeptical about these brakes due to the price, but they installed easily enough, although no instructions are included, I have had to readjust the cable tension a couple of times as the cables do stretch but that is to be expected. they stop me very quickly even on steep grades, and they are very easy to adjust. the brake levers are metal which I was not expecting. I would absolutely recommend these to anyone, just be prepared to spend a couple hours installing them and getting them properly adjusted.

A cautionary "it works"...
Note: it does come pre-bled. I dove into bleeding the front caliper and went with the reverse method (caliper up, pushing bubbles). It works, but I also got mineral oil on my brake pads (my bad). I cleaned them off and they work fairly well. I'll need to replace those tainted pads before any serious riding.I think, for the price, it's worth it to upgrade an old bike or adapt these to a fabrication project. They are good enough, and maybe that's all you need.

Stopping capability is impressive
The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that I can’t install these disks on my minimoto. So I’m stuck using the thicker discs that were on the bike. So I get a little bit of squeaking until it wears the pads down. I did not realize that the bolt pattern on my current bike is 48 mm from center to center whereas the discs that come with the brake system are 44 mm. It’s been a bit difficult to try to find Discs that are compatible. I wish someone made an adapter. 🤷🏻

Not the greatest stopping
I ended up putting these brakes on my regular bike as its good for low speeds and not as aggressive stopsFor my mountain bike It didn't feel like enough stopping power personally and I'd rather be safe flying down the trails as I do

Great performance for the price
Wanted to replace my front hydraulic Juicy 3's (on my Canondale w/headshok, pictured), which have been problematic over the years, with mechanical discs.I've never replaced/installed disc brakes before (other than learning how to bleed my hydraulics, which had the pistons seize up just several month later), nor ever ran cables for anything (braking nor shifting).I couldn't see a difference between the two calipers supplied (in the darkness of my garage at night), and couldn't get it to seat fully on the disc. The next day (outside in the light of day!), I saw that the two calipers were marked differently as to whether they were for front or rear use, based on rotor size. After swapping the caliper to the correct one, and watching a YouTube video on running brake cables, I quickly had it all working smoothly. Also, I just left my old 160mm rotors on, since they were in good shape.I'll swap out my rear hydraulic brakes with this rear mechanical one, which I'm holding onto, the next time they need servicing.Very impressive performance and machining for the price. Note that as others pointed out here - there are no instructions included, but it is not that difficult if you're a little mechanically inclined and willing to watch a couple YT videos. Also note that I use the bike more for cross country purposes, as opposed to extreme mountain biking.

Fits a specialized rock hopper 29er
I had a great time putting this in.The product fits my Specialized Rock Hopper (large frame), 29 inch tires. My hydraulic brake system (leaking and older) were wearing out and wanted to go mechanical brakes. It was a bolt off-bolt on process. I used the existing adapter that was on the old brakes and did not use the two provided. My brake discs were good so I left them. My front disc is 180mm, rear disc 160mm. I noticed the new brake mechanism were marked as 180-160 and the other 160-140. I did not see the difference but I placed the 180-160 marked one to the front brakes for the 180mm disk and the the other 160-140 to the rear 160mm disc. The pads fit in the front disc with the same coverage and position as the rear. The brakes works very well! I would buy these again.Note: The video provided does show the main process. You tube had better videos for mechanical bicycle brakes. There were no instructions in the box.

No product support
Don't buy these. Read on.I bought these brakes thinking that the lower priced ones would be fine for my commuter bike. I'm not racing or needing high performance. I installed these brakes about a week after they arrived. Worked fine for a few weeks but then front caliper failed and leaked brake fluid. I was just outside of the amazon 30 day window of return so I wrote to BUCKLOS and got no response. They don't have a phone # you have to write to their web site. I understand there may be failures but how a company handles these problems means everything. I don't know how many failures they have but since they didn't respond to me I bought the shimano brakes for a few dollars more and they work great. Better than the BUCKLOS when they were new. Spend the extra money and get the name brand. Don't waste your money on a cheaper brand that does not have any customer support!!
