I've had this for 30 minutes and I'm already in love with it. I'm sitting under my toasty new kotatsu as I write this review.I visited my friends in Japan early this year and fell in love with thier kotatsu tables, so I knew that I had to have one for myself when I got back to the states. I am a very cold natured person in a household full of perpetually hot natured folks so I'll use it year round.It came a day late but I think this is due to Coronavirus messing with shipment times from other countries. Delivery was free so I wasn't pressed about it.I set it up as soon as I got it! Very easy setup, just fold the legs out, attach the cord, and put a blanket of your choice down before putting the tabletop on. You don't need to buy one of those fancy and expensive kotatsu futons, I am using a queen size comforter from Target that works just fine. The table is bigger than I expected from the photo which is a bonus. Still fits perfectly in the middle of my small bedroom and now I have a comfortable space to study and work. The table is foldable so you can easily store it away when you're not using it. You can also adjust the heater to be warmer or cooler. You may need a voltage converter to use this in your country, I bought a 1000V US/Japan converter for about $70. It heats up pretty quickly and the table itself is made of a very sturdy wood with a finished tabletop. It's a little heavy to carry, but once you get it set up that's not really a problem.The heater has a slight smell at first. If you use a comforter washed with some nice smelling fabric softener, it's not really noticable.This is an awesome product. If you're considering buying this kotatsu, go for it!

Lovely product, very well made! I have a small basement apartment right now, and this kotatsu table is a perfect place to work, study, or just keep warm! It's a lovely place to work puzzles or have a small meal with a friend as well. The wood and hardware are incredibly sold (I really appreciate the thick metal hinge-and-latch assembly that allows the unit to fold-- no risk that thing's gonna slip!) and the heater is very warm but not so much that you'll burn.I highly recommend getting an Azumaya kotatsu blanket (rectangle shape) to go with this, ours is brown and so so cozy!It is also NOT a good idea to get this product without the voltage converter-- the company recommends one from VCT, the 1000 watt version. I KNOW this sounds like a lot, but trust me they have a good reason. It's not safe to use something with a heating element (such as a heater, a toaster, a rice cooker, or a hairdryer) without having a converter rated for at least 3 times the wattage of the heating element.This table has a 100 volt / 300 watt heating unit, so 1000 watts IS the appropriate and safe wattage for a converter. If you plan on buying any other Japanese products that have heating elements, you might want to factor this in to your selection to make sure you buy a converter with high enough wattage for everything you will be using it for!Ultimately an amazing, quality product. I suspect it will remain my primary coffee table, even when I eventually move into a larger space that could handle a larger, non-folding product. I am grateful for such a wonderful experience!

Its actually really hard to tell, I did but the 120v to 110v converter and it runs just fine when I use it, it warms my body and is comfortable. Arguably though for about the same amount I have seen some on ebay as well. they look bigger there but I wouldn't know about the quality, this is small but sturdy its about he size of a small desk bigger then a high school desk, I would describe it as 3 copy paper boxes next to eachother.

It is smaller than I thought but it goes well with the IKEA love sofa. It is easy to fold, light weight but made very starry. Buy from Japanese companies. They are normally well built than Chinese I like the reverse side of the table. The drawback is that is small. It fits for love sofa size but looks small. But t I live in a small cute mobile home, it is ok with me. I am sure my cats will take my Kotatsu. Overall, the price I paid since it was an used one but it was almost very new, I am very happy with it. I live in Florida but it is a must furniture for me to enjoy a few months winter time with my cats.

Really beautiful, easy set up, and has been working great for the past month. I use a 1000watt converter just in case and have had no issues whatsoever. It came wish the tiniest dent but that didn’t bother me. Better than the plastic ones that were the other options doubles as a normal coffee table no problem.

The kotatsu table worked great for 4 years. I was hoping it would last a lot longer, but recently it just stopped heating up. Unclear why.

We are really happy with this purchase. Got the matching comforter for the kotatsu table and its great!

I am very disappointed with this Kotatsu as I expected solid wood construction and discovered it is primarily built with particle board. This is junk at a high price... I have returned mine to the vendor. Customer service is poor as well.
