How is the rust resistance of the CamJam ?

Hi Cathy Lewis; Let me try and research your question by understanding the process of metalurgy in Wikkapedia. This paraphrased Wikkapedia information might help: Zinc Alloy is die-cast with a finish in nickel plate Is a electrogalviniization process for corrosion protection of metal surface that increases their wear resistance. Also; Gavinized COATED Zinc Alloy Metals are also used to increase RUST PREVENTION in chain link fences playground swings and the undersides of automobiles. Sincerely; Tony Tirado

I have arthritis. Usual cam mechanism is difficult. Does this work easier?

This cam buckle is easier to release than the old ones that came with my car top canoe rack. The release lever is longer and the place where you push is wider and more comfortable. So if your difficulty is applying sufficient force with your fingers and thumb then this will help. However, the path that you have to thread the strap through is a bit tricky - it's not straight through (a bit like threading film through film projector). So if you have trouble grasping and manipulating 1" webbing, then this might be hard to set up initially.

neatly solves this web tensioning problem

Love these units. When attached to tubular 1" webbing with a loop sewn into one end to receive a carabiner, I use a fleet of these little buckles to tension all kinds of stuff at production venues - sandbags. ground screws for tents, safety straps on truss, securing subwoofers in a stack, the list goes on. Minor, minor quibble, they're a little hard to feed with a thick, tubular webbing, but hot cutting a feeding edge at about 30* on the end of the webbing makes that easier. Other than that, 5 stars without hesitation. They're thoughtfully built, sturdy as heck and endlessly useful.

A must have

If you got dead straps with now hooks this thing is perfect. I used to throw out broken staps but now I re-use them again and again.
