Do these traps contain poison? It isn't clear if they kill mice with poison, or if the trap snaps closed on their ? necks, killing them that way.

They do catch mice..when they aren't broke when u receive them ..I ordered 6 traps and when I received them 3 were broke and I couldn't set the trap..so I spent $18 for 3 traps

Probably a stupid question but do you recommend setting out a few at a time or all of them, for best results?

I set out set out a few at a time. I had a mouse last winter, and set them around in different locations and caught it within a week. And then this winter, we got a mouse in the house again, and did the same thing and caught it within a week! And now I leave one under the bathroom sink and a couple in the basement, etc., just in case. These work well!

Do you hear the mouse when it is inside the trap?

You cannot hear the mouse. You will hear the trap snap shut when the mouse is trapped inside.

Is this reusable/resettable? Or is it one time use only?

This is a one time only trap. This is why it is expensive compared to traditional traps. However, I still prefer this one since I don't have to view the results.
