F**!
One of these things is just like the other. One of these things is kind of the same (apologies for modifying Big Birds Lyrics)
Please read this review if you are thinking of purchasing all of Diana Henrys books or if you are considering purchasing both Cook Simple and Pure Simple Cooking. I wish I had read a similar review before I splurged!I just received this book after buying A Bird in the Hand and being completely blown away by Diana Henrys Chicken with Peaches and Lavender Honey recipe in that book.IMPORTANT: Cook Simple and Pure Simple Cooking are the exact same book except for the measurements and some of the ingredient names. I extravagantly went ahead and purchased every single one of her books on Amazon (yes, on the basis of the Chicken with Peaches and Lavender Honey recipe. It was THAT good!) And now have two of the same books. I will probably keep Cook Simple for the following reasons and gift Pure Simple Cooking. But I have provided the following information so that you can make the best decision for you.Cook Simple ISBN:978 1 84533 574 8 has BOTH imperial and metric measurements for every recipe (which I personally prefer) but uses UK names for some ingredients (rocket for arugula for example, beetroot not beets, aubergine not eggplant, Courgettes instead of zucchini) That is not an issue for me, but might be for some US readers perhaps. It specifies 3 teaspoons of an ingredient, where the US version states 1tb (UK tablespoons are equal to 4 tsps, hence the conversion)Pure Simple Cooking iSBN: 978 1 58008 948 7 has ONLY imperial measurements (no metric conversion) and uses US nomenclature for ingredients (arugula, beets, eggplant)I will certainly update my review and rating if necessary, when I have cooked from this book. I will post this same review on Pure Simple Cooking. If you haven't purchased A Bird in the Hand or you have purchased it but haven't yet made the aforementioned chicken with peaches, then you should do yourself a favor and put that on next weeks menu! It is truly wonderful!!Hope this helps.Happy cooking!

Best cook book I own, and I own many!
I love this cookbook. Every recipe I've tried from this book has been successful and end up on my cook regularly list. The recipes are super simple; 15 minutes prep time max then just bung it in the oven. I live in Asia so I often get frustrated looking for very unique ingredients. I find I don't have that problem with this cookbook. Of course I still need to substitute fresh herbs with dried but I found that the recipes still taste absolutely divine. Can't recommend this book enough!

Good book
Excellent and inspiring recipes, just like Diana Henry usually delivers. It's a shame she doesn't have any more titles published in kindle version, I would probably buy them all!

Great book
I really love this book. I am a novice cook yet every recipe I have tried from this book have worked brilliantly and have earned rave reviews from my husband!! The photography is beautiful, the recipes varied...I really recommend it, and am planning to buy other Diana Henry books as a result.

Creative and inspired but easy to prepare recipes
I’ve always enjoyed both food and cooking and over some 50 decades have accumulated a wide selection of cookery books. I prefer hard copy, but at 99p, this Diana Henry book is not to be missed! She’s one of my favourite food writers and this volume has been on my wish list for a while. It can be tempting to turn to ready made or take away food, but with very little effort, it’s almost as easy to make a wholesome and tasty meal from scratch. Diana Henry uses ingredients that are widely available, there are no lengthy preparations and her food is always tasty and appetising. I like the way this book is set out; it’s split into main ingredients like chicken, lamb, beef etc so there’s plenty to chose from. Packed with colour and the recipes are suitable for all skill levels. This works fine on Kindle, but I have an old iPad mini which I’m using as my e cookery book. In this or tablet, the photos are dynamic, it’s easy to navigate and a pleasure to browse in much the same way as a hard copy. A total delight and highly recommended.

Great book
I think this is a great book for busy people. Clear easy recipes that work well and gives great ideas on what to with for example sausages or pork chops. I have 400+ cookery books but this is the only one I give as presents because after working all day with little effort you can have a great meal on the table within about 40 minutes. Every recipe does not have a photo but I did not find that a problem. I love all of her titles but this stands out as easy and confidence building for those who are less familiar with home cooking,
